I have a 9700 on at&t and cannot get the gps to work. When I try to add navigator it says "product requires a gps receiver, please purchase a gps receiver." It worked fine before and the only thing I have done to the phone was update the system. Anybody know how to get this fixed??

I would try restoring it from the last time you backed it up. The GPS is built in, so it has to be some sort of software issue. You can also try pulling the battery while the phone is turned on. If that doesn't work call at&t and put your number in. The automated system will recognize that you're using a blackberry and customize the options to you. Toaster: You say that GPS has nothing to do with Internet or Email - actually, if you are using Telenav, it has a lot to do with Internet. Quite a bit of data is transferred between the system and device in order to run that app.

You're right. The reason I said that though is because I didn't ask, and he didn't volunteer info about his data or email services.

Thanks for the info. I actually work for a at&t retailer so I have tried the battery pull thing with no luck. I havent called in yet because I am one of those people who try to fix things myself and probably end up making it worse. Is it ok to restore to the last point before I did the update?? Will I lose any info? Other than this I love the phone. Won it from Blackberry so being free made me love it that much more. 🙂
