I currently work for an att authorized retailer and I dont mean to toot my own horn but I post pretty good numbers. I was trying to see what else is out there in the industry in terms of better pay and benefits. My question to you guys is how do you guys get paid? Is it on a gross profit system or do you make commision on a sale by sale basis? Also, is there hourly pay too and are there benefits? Any response is appreciated and thank you in advance.

you usually start off somewhere between 10-12 an hr. it is also commission based on what rate plan you sell features and accessories, if your in a wireline footprint you also somewhat get paid on wireline (phone, net, directv, u-verse) there are monthly quotas for phones (35-55 new lines), features ($20-$24 avg) and accessories ($50-65 avg.) per sale. you make a certain amount on the lines based on the monthly amount its worth i.e. 59.99/99.99 etc, but thats also true for the 9.99 add'l lines for family plans. with features it changed when i left to a 400 payout at 100% of quota. if your quota is 2000 in features you get 400, if you make 1000 in features you get 200. you get payout for feature difference not as it were a whole feature. ...

One more thing, if you work for an authorized dealer, you must wait 6 months before transfering to a COR position outside of that dealer position. It sucks but thats the agreement that COR made with the franchises...

Thanks for the reply! The quotas seem pretty easy but I havent done wireline before. I normally run around 30 FPO and 75 APO. My total feature dollars per month are around 3000. The only thing that sux is that I would have to get another job for six months. Very inconvienient.

You'll also want to watch with your current employer. I for example am under a one year non compete after I leave my job with the authorized retailer.

Six employees have left the autorized retailer and gone straight to COR. No wait. A non compete won't hold up in court unless you recieved a signing bonus of any sort.

sounds like you do very well for yourself. keep in mind that the average COR store has between 8-14 reps in it. so if you work in a smaller location your numbers may get skewed a bit. also is that true features you make (ex adding a text package when there is no text package) keep in mind changing features you only make the difference and your 100% payout for features at COR is $400...

let me rephrase; 8-14 employees on the floor at one time...

I don't get paid on an unlimite text if they have an existiting text package, only the diffrence and I work with 5 others. Selling features easy, just look at the bill, ask qualifying questions, and bundle the rate plan with the features. Five them one price. I even go so far as saying that they are getting call waiting and voicemail, you know, the stuff that everey rate plan has. Qualifying questions are big because it helps overcoming ther objections.

Spelling on that last post was terrible, I did it on my storm. And yes, I have verizon and sell att, stupid contracts, lol. But I meant to say give them one price instead of "five them one price" Sorry.
