cutting through the bullsh*t (looking for a new phone)
OK it's that time again. I have an upgrade coming my way and I can get a new phone for cheap. I am looking to get a phone (not a smartphone/iphone). I want a phone with lots of cool/stupid features. I've been looking at the samsung 3 touchscreens currently out.
In the past I've had nokias motorolas and samsungs in the past. I've found I had to deal with lots of BS when I had my 1 samsung (Sync). I had to cut mp3's down to 300mb to be ringtones, I had to convert mp3s into some crazy format to use them as text message alerts and now i've discovered that this is still the case for the 3 samsung touchscreens currently offered. Add to that I've discovered that none of them have a numberpad speed dial feature.

The Nokia S60 phones (the E71x, 6650 fold, Surge) will allow for any mp3 to be used as any ring or alert tone. And yes, it will play the whole song if you set it as an alarm tone. If the phone's music player will play the file, you can use it as a tone.
1 touch dialing from the keypad is an option you can turn on & off at will.
There's probably more that do that, I just happen to know for certain that S60 does those.

I had the 6650 and the Surge...I dont really remember about the 6650 but the Surge I had to cut the songs down to fit as a ringtone. Hated it!

SE C905a or W518a, sonys always have cool/stupid features...like the gesture control on the 518.
