Stupid Question from New Cingy Customer!!!

This is probably a dumb question, but I have just came to Cingular from Verizon, so please understand the limitations I am used to and help me out.

I just got the Nokia 6230, and I was very impressed with the bluetooth and infrared functionality. I noticed that I can send my contacts to the phone from my PDA via infrared. I was just wondering, does this cost any money to do this or is it cost free due to me transferring the data directly from one of my devices to my phone not using the Cingular network for the transfer??? Please help me out with this as I know VZW would have charged me for having this functionality.

Thanks

Thank You guys for your help. I am just so used to Verizon wanting to restrict the features of my phone or charge me for using them that I am always skeptical about doing things because I am used to nice things like data transfer costing me alot of money.

The only things that will cost you are the things that use the network. Airtime, Text messages, sending or receiving photos, downloading or uploading data on the internet... things like that. Your bluetooth, IR, or wi-fi if your phone was so inclined wouldn't charge you anything. (The phone you have right now doesn't have wi-fi, but phones in the coming years will.) I use the bluetooth on my computer to regularly upload songs and graphics to my cell phone, free of charge.
