Goodbye AT&T!

8 years I have had my business on AT&T. I have 175 users on my business account. We travle all over the US, and out West is all Roaming. We are located in Texas, and last week or so when AT&T's network was out cost me money.

I will be switching my business over to Verizon PTT this comming week. And about the Roaming with Verizon, I was talking to a CSR today and they told me they have Unlimited Roaming and do not end contracts due to excessive roaming usage.

Another business we work with in Dallas of 150 will be switching this comming week from Sprint to Verizon.

Just remember that VZW PTT only works when all phones involved are hitting VZW towers. You'll only get standard calls when roaming off-network.

That would be rare. Verizon has the largest native coverage network and largest 3G network.

There's no disputing that VZW is the best coverage- just make sure it works properly where YOU need it. There are some pretty big off-network chunks in Nevada, Texas, Arizona and New Mexico where you won't have native coverage or advanced data services. As long as you don't need the PTT or data coverage to work in THOSE regions, you'll be fine.

VZW is the largest networks in TX and AZ now from Alltel. Larger then AT&T and Sprint. Everywhere we go, the people have Verizon.

Why do people always come on here just to bitch and moan that AT&T all of sudden is no good for them and they are switching. I don't really care that they are complaining about their problems with the service. Its the fact that they are changing to Verizon. It sounds like to me that these people work for Verizon. Especially since the last person to say they were "leaving" AT&T was also having problems in Texas. If Verizon was so good to begin with they why stay with AT&T for so long.

I'll tell you why. These are Verizon reps or whoever trying to get people to switch to Verizon. Its a joke!! It sounds like a crappy Verizon commercial.

Because two years ago, we were not having the problems we are having now. And I need a strong 3G network to run my business when on the road. Im not saying AT&T hasn't been good for us in the past, but the money we lost two weeks or so ago will be hard to get back. Also, our contract is up.

I own Verizon as well as AT&T stores and I think you sound like a commercial for Verizon.

I have no experience with ATT in Texas. But I use an ATT Air card for my laptop witch is all 3G. And over the months I've noticed ATT's 3G seems very susceptible to inclement weather. And the signal indicator is NEVER full. 😕
Even when I had ATT for voice I'd notice a little cell phone warble during high winds.
Don't know if it's at all related to what you guys are experiencing in Texas.

Of course it is, knowing that AT&T can control the weather. Every carrier has an outage, and eventually from time to time may experience some degraded service. I don't mind the calls and threats of people switching carriers, go ahead we don't up and waive ETFs, service is not guaranteed.

Verizon recently had an outage in North Georgia that lasted for several days.

State wide? nope! haha! AT&T sucks, face it. And ive been checking reports of tower outages, and there are no reports of outages in Georgia. Another thing, if a tower does go out, it takes from 30 min to 3 hours to get back up and running. If it takes longer, they will put a COW out. AT&T takes there time, and says what ever.

It's not just that, I said out West is all Roaming. The coverage out there is horrible and ive notice the coverage in other places have gone down as well. AT&T has become a very unreliable network. AT&T has no one to blame but themselves.

BS on what? Go read post, blogs, and comments. AT&T's network is CRAP. I can tell you work for AT&T's customer care, because its one of the worse in the cellular market. AT&T's network goes out like every week it seems.

AT&T is BS. Lots of business are moving over to Verizon. I don't blame this person eather. AT&T is not the top dog network like they were 2 years ago.

i have worked for att, verizon and sprint, and ill tell you first hand, one it has to do with the model phone you have and two att has better voice coverage out of any carrier in the us right now. vzw has better data, and sprint is going down. i hate customers like you who have no idea what they are talkin about, but because of what they heard, they think they know it all. my only advice... get a credible friend in the wireless business, cuz you dont know jack

actually at&t does not have the best voice coverage... they claim best coverage world wide. they do not claim that in the US. verizon clearly holds that title.

look at both companies pre paid coverage (pay go) and that is their own net...

Verizon's prepay coverage is bogus crapola. They claim to have coverage in Tellico Plains and Birchwood, TN. and have ZERO. Tellico is 100% U.S. Cellular country, and Birchwood is Sprint territory.

Even if retention made you feel like your the most important customer in the world, your 175 lines is a drop in the ocean when speaking of 77 million lines. So, bye!

Verizon has the same attitude and I gotta tell you, it's not a good one. Losing 175 lines should hurt and they should want to know why. I agree posting about hating AT&T in the AT&T forum is only going to incite the maniacs, but still, your comment does not further your cause at all.

I take each individual call as if they were my only customer and I do bend over backwards for people alot. I have the philosophy of treat people as they want to be treated like a person and satisfaction is guarenteed. Its a win-win situation.

I think he is just mad that AT&T is losing business customers along with Sprint. If they cost me money that will be hard to get back, why should I stay with them? If I need to travel overseas, I can get one of there CDMA with GSM phones. The Roaming rates are lower then AT&T's anyway when overseas.

I have a life. And in my life, I'm glad i don't need to worry about my wireless network going down. I'm gald I don't need to worry about limited 3G service. I'm glad I don't need to worry about limited coverage in rural areas or when I travel.
