Leaving AT&T ---

I live in Texas, and I am currently on a family plan. My business causes me to travel all over Texas, and I need a carrier that can work in all the small towns (i.e. Seguin, Schertz, Mexia). I'm currently faced with the tough decision of Verizon or T-Mobile. Sprint is out of the picture due to unfortunate past experiences, and I don't want to stay with AT&T due to unsatisfaction. Any opinions?

If you need substantial coverage I am not sure why you are considering T-Mobile. T-Mobile is known for not having very good coverage in rural areas.

If you decide to switch to Verizon let me know. Maybe I can help you get a good deal.

The best choice for you and your business would be Verizon.

They have 3G all over the state of Texas.

Its in Mexia, Seguin, and Schertz as well.

T-Mobile Roams in Mexia and doesnt look very strong at all. in the areas around it.

My question is if your leaving At&T why come here to ask which of the other carries is better? Go to the T-Mobile or Verizon board and ask them how well the service is in Texas.

I'm in the same boat as you with regards to AT&T. As you know, AT&T has had horrific problems in Texas with its 2G & 3G network. It refuses to upgrade its network, thus everyone in Central Texas is experiencing record number of dropped calls. I spoke with a AT&T manager and was told AT&T employees call it DEATH STAR. AT&T is very aware of their issues but continue to not want to upgrade things whereby calls become dependable again. I have AT&T blackberry, its horrible service, so I've been using BOOST Mobile (IDEN) network for $50.00 (Unlimited, includes all govmt taxes too), and I've not had one problem in the past 45 days with them. Very dependable, great coverage but if your out in the boonies there isnt service.

Hey, I live in mexia... Vzn works good. don't know the speed. I do know if you go in the country around mexia (boonies) there are a few spots where att or vzn or even alltell will not work... but that is way out with only the cows and mesquite.
Fal. PS, I have ATT and it works fine, T-mobile works fine too, a friend has it and no problems.

In Mexia,

Verizon/Alltel have EVDO 3G there.

AT&T has EDGE (Slower Data speeds).

T-Mobile Roams.

I live in Mexia, also. I am on at&t and have had some problems from time to time. My older son had Altell when he lived here, and he said he had excellent service.
