Upgrading at Best Buy?

Has anyone done business (phone upgrade that is) with Best Buy? I have just noticed they have the BB Bold for only $249. 🤤
Will they be able to honor my additional $50 upgrade discount that I qualify for?
Will they add other T&C's on top of the ones stipulated by AT&T? (don't want surprises on my bill)

Yes I have done bus with them... I would not recommend it. Their sales rep are not as well trained as the at&t store reps. Also that price of $249 is probably only for new activations. Also if you have an additional $50 off they will not be able to honor that. SO all in all I would not go there...

It depends as well. My best buy agent that I have bought from previously is very knowledgable and explained it very well. I only went there because I had a Best Buy Credit card and didnt have the cash on me yet because pay day was the following week I broke my phone at my birthday night out at a bar dropped it and then someone stepped on it (and no i didnt call in blaming AT&T i accepted the fact that i was dumb and broke my phone). My rep helped me out and didnt mess my account up and I didnt even have to pay the 18.00 upgrade fee. I was very impressed by their professionalism. However, it is the luck of the draw tho because when that person isnt there its some pimply 15-16 year old working there that will most likely screw it all up.

They cannot honor your $50 discount (technically AT&T gives you the $50 off the $399 price so they are already lower to begin with).

Same price after all is said and done. I would bet they do require the feature though. I have seen a new trend from national retail to require features when in the past they did not.

I just got back from BB. They are selling me the Bold for $250. No rebates, they can't honor my $50 additional discount. But that's fine! I can get it cheaper than $400!

Let us know how the experience goes. Its sad they even allow someone who hasnt been trained to do it if the regular rep is not there. They should always have a backup rep trained on how to do it...but then again its not a real business for just cell service. My experience was good because the rep was not dumb and had great attention during their training and actually gave a damn. Make sure they explain the CSS and upgrade fee as well. ;)

I plan on upgrading in the next three weeks or so. I'm still a bit skeptical about the whole thing. I asked the guy working there about the Bold, and he pointed at the Storm! I was like WTF? I don't want that POS! and a few mins into our convr I noticed he had one! Hillarious! I may go to another BB to do the upgrade, since I think I f-d it up with him! 😕

Good reply to the Storm offer... That thing is a POS... Why would he offer you a Verizon phone when you have at&t and want to upgrade. Thats what I don't like about Best Buy and Walmart. They carry all the carriers so they play favorites. That shows no respect for the cust or the service they have. If you have the $50 extra off a phone from at&t you will get it for $349 in-store with a $100 rebate and get good service. I would recommend to go into a at&t store near you.

I to was looking at upgrading through best buy. Even after the stupid upgrade fee the nokia 6650 is still less than upgrading the phone through at&t either at their store or online. 49.99 for the phone, 18 for the upgrade. AT&T wants 119.99 then wait for a $50 rebate plus then add the 18 upgrade fee. I tried calling and asking the customer service rep if they would consider waiving the upgrade fee and I would by the phone from them instead of best buy and I was basically told to go jump in the lake and that my service was not a big deal to them. I have never had worse customer service than with at&t. I was not demanding or anything just asked a question. I have 5 lines with them and have been a customer when they were originally at&t. ...

The big thing you guys are missing here is that best buy is a 3rd party retailer, and when you doing business with a 3rd party retailer you sign a double contract. So i hope that you want to keep your bold for the full two year or else they can screw you royally! Also if you make a late payment they can charge you up to $35. So i know everyone one wants a good deal but you just have to read the fine print.

Well I just extended my contract by going through best buy. It saved me enough money to make it worth my time not to mention the person the phone was quite pleasant, unlike how I was treated by the AT&T customer rep. Between purchasing 2 phones through best buy I saved myself $70 and also did not have to wait for a stupid rebate, so less money up front as well. I also generally keep my phone for at least 2 years. I don't have to have the latest and greatest and the extra phone is part of the family plan. Since it is also a contract extension I shouldn't notice any change in billing etc. Maybe AT&T will get a clue one day and learn to train their customer service reps to be a bit more polite.

Your one of those customers that I wished would jump in a lake, and just die. It's horrible when you have customers calling in daily whining about their upgrade when they signed a contract stating what the upgrade would be. I want this phone, at this price, and if I don't get it then its the worst customer care ever. You have five lines because you chose five lines, and now you want a cookie for paying your bill like a responsible adult...you sir are pathetic. GROW UP!
