AT&T said it will boost its network by 70 to 80 percent along the parade route and parts of Georgetown. It is deploying two cell sites carried on trucks to key traffic areas and boosting capacity at the Renaissance M Hotel, the Gaylord National Resort, the Hilton Washington and the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill. The company will have an additional two cell towers on standby, ready to be rolled out to areas with high traffic.

Seems like an impressive effort to maintain network capacity to me.

Here's the full article, I thought it was an interesting read:

Sorry, it's not that I intended to hurt your sensative feelings, I just hate to read really stupid comments that only state the obvious.

To me a 40% increase in network capacity would have been "obvious". But it's the 70-80% increase that I thought was impressive.

Not everyone knows this. Quite informative if you ask me. Just because you know everything, doesn't mean everyone else does too.

Well I hope they made the same response to every post in other carrier forums about this as well. 🙂

I think its great the companies dont HAVE to do this but do out of goodwill and PR purposes.
