Anybody know where I can have an at&t branded 6126 unlocked? A rep at at&t said he could enter the IMEI and easily retrieve the code, but that he would get in trouble. No need for that, so now it's time for plan B; whatever that is 🙂

Do you have an account with at&t? Usually if you have had your account for a little bit you can call customer service and tell them you are going overseas and need to unlock the phone.

Been w/ at&t for over a year, told them about an overseas trip, but it didn't do much good. The rep said he was prohibited from disclosing at&t's unlock policy, and that he couldn't provide the code. Too bad seeing I bought the phone from at&t, and have not had any account issues.
I was never much of a t-mobile fan, but I did like their 90 day unlock policy. Regardless, I'm an at&t faithful and I don't think an unlock code for a discontinued phone is too much to ask for.

Personally, I would call back and see if you can talk to a rep who knows what they are doing. Every company has unlock codes and at&t has always been able to give the unlock code for overseas trips. I haven't been corrected on this by any at&t employee so I'm assuming it is still correct. I've noticed with all of the carriers you get some customer service reps who are awesome and others who really don't care to help you..lol.
If that still doesn't work do a google search for the unlock code for your phone. You may have to pay for it though. I haven't had to go through those sites myself so hopefully someone will post a good one for you to go to. I hope that helps.

here is how u get the code .....
call up customer service and when u get on the phone ask the rep how they are doing and if they have been yelled at today... just to see how nice they are if they laugh then u should be good
ask them if they have snooper access ( this is the system that gives up the unlock codes for MOST phone) nokia for sure !!!
once they say YES now u KNOW for a fact that they can get u the code right there and then ....
say hey i need a favor from u can u get me an unlock code using snooper for me ? and they will prolly say sure if i can ill get it for u .... if they say no then thank them for their time and hang up no need to ask and plead
eventually u will get a rep that is having a good enough day to hel...

u can try that way but it will still take u 5 days to get the freaking code if they even send it to u ...
do it my way trust me it works everytime unless they just can't generate a code for it .....
