Call forwarding should be included, but forwarded calls still use airtime.

With Cingular (orange, not blue), you could get Fast Forward and for 2.99 a month, all forwarded calls would NOT use airtime. 😉

I've been curious about some details of this option. My understanding is that it's especially nice for SBC users, since SBC/Cingular waives the monthly fee, but I've never found an in-store Rep who really understands it. I know that the cradle also recharges my mobile handset, but ...

1. Do you need to program the phone before placing it into the Fast-Forward cradle?

1. Does the caller-ID (CID) info get passed from mobile handset to the home phone?

3. Is the (CID) pass-thru accomplished between the devices, or does the home phone need the electronic CID feature (i.e. does CID get passed internally from device to device, or externally through the copper phone system)?

With AT&T Wireless the Call Forwarding Feature is provisioned and ready for the customer to use, but once activated it won't consume the airtime but rather will cost the per minute charge depending on the rate plan which it could be from .40 to .25 per minute times the duration of call forwarded.

Can someone ratified what Jinx mentioned above?

Cingular call forwarding is $.10/minute, as well as airtime, in the Philadelphia market... I would think it would be the same, company wide.

What about in the Denver market?

I found this on the ATTWS webiste... what does it mean? "Call forwarding minutes are charged at the out of bucket rate of the base plan."

That would be great. I am on a regional plan & will be traveling outside of my coverage area & want to forward the calls to a national phone.

On Blue. If you forward your call you will be billed at the out of bucket rate.

Which means it will not use up any of your airtime you will just be charged your out of bucket rate per min(Same rate as the additional min charge for you plan)

So if your out of bucket rate is $0.45 and you forard a 10 min call you will be charged $4.50 for that call. that 10 mins will not count towards you inplan or promo mins. So even if the forwarded call was on a weekend it would cost $4.50.

Still cheaper than roaming in most cases =)

On newer plans, the .10 cent per minute charge went away. You are responsible for airtime and roaming charges if applicable.
