Is AT&T a good carrier to use?

I have tried AT&T and really want to like them but I have found their network to be inconsistent. I tried the network with a Blackberry Curve and then again with a Tilt. Both times I had many bars one minute and then a coupel the next. I would have 3G and then not have it in the same 30 minute period in the same place.

Is there a problem with AT&T's network. I am hearing from other people that they have had situations where they actually lost all service for a couple of days. Anyone else having that problem.

Currently I am a Verizon customer, but I am tired of their high prices for service. If I could find a better network I would swith immediately. So far, no luck. Advice and objective facts on this subject would be welcomed. ...

Hey! It's a legitimate question. That, and he/she said that they're sick of Verizon. How could that be trolling?

To me, at&t and Verizon prices are pretty much the same. I have had Sprint and at&t. At&t is better than Sprint whereas Sprint is cheaper. I was looking at either switching back to Sprint or either trying Verizon. T-Mobile is not out of the question either. I have had a few issues with at&t network lately. Good luck!!!

You arent going to find a better network then verizon wireless in this country. you may be able to find someone a little cheaper but it likely wont be at&t. the prices for the two are identical pretty much across the board.

why dont you call into customer service with VZW and ask to be transfered to loyalty have them see what specials you qualify for and if you can save money.

No it is not, networks are stronger in certain areas, i have had all of the major four carriers, except sprint.

And I roamed, yes ROAMED (for some reason) in Los Angeles and Southern California when I was visiting. and i even did the *228 thing.

I am sorry but it all depends on where you are at.

I am partial to att because i can buy unlocked phones online and use it on this network.

personally I'd go with US Cellular if they're in your area or even Alltel, even though they are getting bought out by Verison soon, but you get to keep your Alltel plan so you get to pay a lower rate untill you need to upgrade.

In my experience, these two providers have the best service and the best phones. Try 'em out and see how you like them.

yea i second that. i would have to say alltel is a large carrier but havent falled in the category of high prices. there prices are decent. and my service area i get great coverage. and their phones are pretty current and up to date also. their phones are decently priced. but if another wireless company works better for you then you select it.

I currently have AT&T. I love them, they're my favorite cellphone company(next to Sprint). I get service everywhere, at times it is abit Spotty, like on my brother's road he lives on, I get service on certain parts, but I don't other, but I never lose service too long.

I have also had Verizon, and I didn't like them. They constantly over charge you, well they did me, my bill was consistently 250 dollars or more, I love AT&T, but I may switch back to Sprint, just because they're my favorite carrier, but AT&T is a good second choice if Sprint's not available or very good in your area.

YEs they are but having been with ATT since before Cingular bought it (and changed its name back to ATT) it has ALWAYS been spotty. Terrible Hand-offs causing drop calls, But mostly it does the job and the freedom and flexibility a GSM netowrk offers over controlling Verizon is well worth the minor inconveniences now and then.

Verizon has issues in some areas as well. I was on a boat yesterday on the intercoastal water way and one of the guys had Verizon and had as much trouble as I did in some areas. Veriaon would like you to believe they are perfect everywhere. Not true. But they do have service in areas many carriers would not bother with, but not ALL their services may work when they are roaming on another network

ALL GSM services...

Be careful Verizon may have MORE coverage area but a lot of it is roaming and you cannot use Verizon "IN Network" services on roaming networks unlike GSM...But you will be able to make a phone call ..meh
