Closing Iphone Account
My wife got the 3g 8G model. She doesn't like it after less than two weeks and her new job's location gets next to no AT&T coverage.
Is it cheaper to return the phone and pay restocking fee and partial monthly fees, etc. or cancel the account and pay the ETF keep the 3g to myself to upgrade my old iphone? Her account was a brand new one.
...
If you are eligible to upgrade I would bet they will let you keep the phone, cancel her line and transfer the agreement to your line instead.
...
Thank you texaswireless, actually I am not eligible until November of this year.
...
did u buy the phone from apple?
...
Yes.. I am thinking about paying the ETF and paying balance of monthly charge.
...
u aren't gonna pay etf if u cancel the line within the 30 days ....
to be honest u should wait return the phone its only gonna cost u 10% and reverse what ever u did ...
in october i have a feeling something else is gonna come out of apple

AT&T does not do this.
...
If I read this correctly you stated you currently have the original IPhone. If you do then you are eligible to upgrade to the IPhone 3G at any point at the $199.99 and $299.99 pricing.
With that in mind it will be cheaper for you to return your wifes IPhone 3G and pay the restocking fee and then upgrade your service.
