Will the BB Curve 8310 ever have video capability?
Here's the direct link to vodaphone's upgrade sight:

Just know there are always risks involved with installing an operating system not directly from at&t. I didn't have any problems, but make sure you follow instructions carefully.
1. Make sure you have the latest version of Desktop Manager installed. It's 4.3, download from BlackBerry - BlackBerry - Sys Req V4-3
2. Download the above file to the PC then install it to the PC by running the file you downloaded. (Choose the Curve 8310)
3. Locate the vendor.xml file and delete it. It's located in c:\program files\common files\r...

You can however click this link and downloaded it. I'm waiting to see if it works.

Happy happy, joy joy!
Now I need to know how to restore my phone back to the just left the store state.
I have tried
Wipe device from the security settings
refreshing the OS through BB Desktop
Nothing seems to work.
I lost my favorite theme though, anyone know where I can find the theme that combined the Zen and Today themes? I think it was called Today Plus
PS, what happened to your phone? Why did it brick? I am curious, I was going to put OS 4.5 on a co-workers phone but I don't want to risk it if there are issues.
I think upgrading to 4.5 is safe, it was my first time messing with the BB OS, and I didn't follow that instruction to delete the vendor.xml file. All in all, it was a collection of errors on my part more than the upgrade itself.
I haven't tried this yet and do not know if it offers anything in addition to the .37 version. Just thought I would post the link.
Maybe I will revisit this update in a few months.
2) New blackberry browser, similar to Opera Mini
3) Improved e-mail, more like html viewing
4) New L Theme
5) Address book, font, various other small improvements
It's just better, and it seems to be running very smoothly on my 8310.
I did try the 8100 4.5 on my other phone and it DID NOT take well. Had to downgrade. So there are risks involved. If anyone wants to do it, I will throw down the info I have on it.

Also I just posted this:

The installation definitely gave me a scare though because it took my phone about 10 minutes to come back alive after the upgrade. I thought I had bricked it.
I'm restoring my contacts and everything as I write this, but I definitely recommend this to anyone with an 8310.
As long as you delete that vendor.xml from the 4.5 software I believe your BB will retain the AT&T stuff, like PTT. I also still have the AT&T splash screen at startup.
