Hello! I am looking to sign up with Cingular but I need help choosing a phone. There are 3 phones that I am interested in. They are: Moto V180, Moto V551, and SE Z500a. I am interested in a camera phone but it is not a necessity. Anyone who knows about these phones please give me a hand here! I live in NYC metro area if that helps! 🙂

The Samsung is overpriced crap. I mean it's a literally steaming pile of ebola loving monkey $hit. I wouldn't touch that phone with my ex-wifes hand.

The Z500 is a nice phone but the display is crap and we've had a few come back into the store with different problems.

I hate Motorola the company, but the V551 has been my favorite personal use phone for a while. Has a nice display, and usable features, with good performance. Plus the lady sharks think its sexy.

Your best bet as far as camera phones on cingular is going to be the motorola V551 right now. The Z500 is a good phone for the price. I have sold quit a few of them and havent had any come back with technical issues.

Did you sell enough of the Z500's to win the new S710a? I did and I'm in teir A. 😁

I've had about 10-15% of the Z500's come back with technical issues of one sort or another. It's a nice phone if you get the right one.

You get what you pay for.

out of those 3, i would get the v551... i am hearing alot of problems with the z500 and the v180 doesnt even have a camera phone. The best quality phones from cingular are the new siemens phone, and the nokia 6620. I have the nokia, it takes awesome pictures.

🙂 The MOTO V551 is a good inexpensive midrange phone if you want a camera, IMS, MMS,SMS and the rest of that stuff.

Yeah I figured the V551 would be the best bet. I was going to go with the Sony (because of the price) but I really hated the screen dullness. Thanks for the help...but I have one other question...how come there isn't unlimited n/w on the 39.99 plan?? I don't mind the 450 rollover but I do use my phone a lot at night. So I know if I want unl. n/w to just pay for the 49.99 plan but I was just curious about that. Thanks in advance. 😁

This would be because Cingular has not figured out what Verizon has. It will attract many more customers by simply offering unlimited N/W with every plan.

Yeah I can't lie I have looked at Verizon's plans but I really don't like their phones (no offense) so I am not sure. Also I had Sprint so I wanted to try GSM to see if it really is better than digital...because Sprint is the worst let me tell you!!! 👿

Could you really talk up 5000 minutes on n/w? I constantly use my phone...day, nite, weekends...ive never talked 5000 minutes with my daytime/N&W minutes combined. I would think they do that to keep there arpu up.

Uh what is arpu mean?? 🤭

I have seen 8000+ minutes on some accounts (mainly family plans). ARPU stands for Average revenue Per User. It includes the cost of the rate plan and recurring monthly charges (data packages, insurance, etc)

Oh dear, could I tell some stories... Yep, I have seen customers rack up over 10K mins per month without breaking a sweat. There are 1440 minutes in a day, and 8-10 weekend days in a month, so it's doable, if ridiculous... 😳

It's not whether I can use that many minutes or not. It is the principle. Cingular wants to limit their customers.

capping n&w mins on low plans is better in my opinion than "nerfing" bluetooth like Verizon did. 😈

Yep, seen it. Talked to a nice lady 3 weeks ago. used 6000+ N&W minutes a month. REAL easy to convince to spend the $10 to go up to the NTN 600 plan... 😎

I dont see the big deal. If the customer talks that much then they probably need to be on a 49.99 plan or higher anyways. Ive never had anyone complain about the 5000 N&W minutes. Maybe its cause Im such a great salesmen 😁

I can't lie....Verizon has crappy phones. I had Sprint as well, and I hated them. But I also like Verizon's coverage and customer service.

Nah I wasn't complaining about the 5,000 n/w minutes. I was just wondering. Anyway I got that plan for my mom and I am on the 49.99 plan so there! 😛 So far I like Cingular and the reps have been very cool (man you guys need to train those Sprint reps cause they need help!!) so I will be staying for awhile. Thanks Cingular! 😉
