Ok people. Please don't flame me for this question. I will definitely be switching to AT&T tomorrow from Verizon. I am deciding between the iphone and the Blackberry Curve 8310. At this point, I'd be happy with either. Here is my main priorities (in order)...

1. Phone (must be a great communication device)
2. Email (am not a heavy user)
3. Internet (will use it frequently)
4. Durability
5. Style
6. Ease of use
7. Customization
I have a imac as my main computer at home and also a windows laptop. I would not consider jailbreaking the iphone. I currently own a ipod touch and love it.

Please, don't ask if I want a phone for business purposes or as a media toy. Like I said, I'd be happy with either. Money not an issue. Just want to h...

I had the Curve before i switched over to the Apple Iphone. Personally, i love my Iphone and would without a doubt choose that over the curve.

The ONLY flaws I can say about the iphone, which you've probably already heard is MMS. which who really cares, you can e-mail them to anyone, and to yourself.

The thing i don't like about the curve is that the phone doesn't light up when you get a text message, and that service is glitchy, and you have a quite a few dropped calls. The curve also doesn't have wifi like the iphone does.

You said you don't use e-mail that much, which is basically the entire point in buying a blackberry. The Iphone is a great e-mail phone, I don't use e-mail all that much, and it works great for me.

Syncing on...

I second the iphone. I know there are a ton of blackberry lovers-iphone haters on phonescoop, and I used to feel the same way until I bought one last week. I may never own another phone, maybe a second generation when its released. The phone is just so so simple to use. Now with the release of SDK software, you will see some pretty awesome tools coming soon. Go with the iphone, I am sure you will be completely happy. Besides the iphone package is $10 cheaper per month.

If you must choose between the two, choose the 8310. Although, if I were you, I'd get a Tilt.

Ok, 2 votes iphone, 1 vote Curve.

I appreciate all the views. I 'm leaning towards the iphone right now because of the way you would be able to customize it in a couple months. I just hope the SDK isn't disappointing. One of my concerns about the iphone is that as a phone it really isn't great. Ringtone and headset volume is poor (but what I read).

I'lll keep looking for opinions until I go to At&T later this afternoon ....Thanks all !!!!

I have had both phones, from a media and web browsing stand point I preferred the iPhone, but in the end went back to the 8310. 8310 gets better reception, longer battery life, and has louder speakers. I don't dislike the iPhone, but it has a few thing that just really annoyed me, no MMS, no copy/paste, and speaker volume could be louder were my biggest complaints.

I had a curve for a few months and have now had the iphone for 6 months. I love this phone, it doesn't do everything but it does everything I really need. You'll love it. The curve is money too, if you want email as a main point id get that, otherwise, iphone sir!

I have owned both the iPhone and the Curve, I would never EVER go back to the iPhone. The touch screen was hardly responsive at the edges, the speaker sucks, the processor was choppy, the keyboard does not display on landscape when using SMS, the camera is poor and has no flash. But the biggest two reasons are their are no corporate discounts on either the phone, or the rate plan.
The Curve has great battery life (and you can change the battery, something you cannot do with the iPhone), a great camera with flash, great screen resolution, plus a huge worldwide community of "Crackberry" addicts always looking to better the Blackberry.

Well, you have 30 days to test drive, maybe neither phone is for you, who knows. Yet out of the phones ...

Thanks for the input. I've had the phone now for 24 hrs and I'm still feeling out all it's features. So far, I like it. I'm not loving it, but I like it. My wife and I just switched to AT&T and since she got a phone that qualifies for our corporate discount and we're on a family plan, we get the discount for the plan only. She is the primary line. I can't get the discount for my part of the plan or data package. I know this might sound trivial but the one downside that I have to the iPhone so far is that I feel as though I have to treat it gently. It's all glass and I find myself treating it gingerly. And ALL those finger prints and smudges !! I have to give it some time to see if this will be the phone for me.

Just wear gloves when handling the phone. LOL

I can understand not liking features but since when is a phone jewelry to be all polished and shiney?

LOL, I'd never give up the phone because of the finger prints and smudges ....It's just an annoyance, that's all. I'm still getting accustomed to the features. So far, I think it's great !! More later .....
