Hi everyone. I will be purchasing a new "unlocked" BB 8310 through COLORWARE this week. I'm new to this locked/unlocked thing and I need to know if I'll have any problems obtaining service with AT&T after purchase. On the colorware site, it says that the 8310 is to be used on the AT&T network after they customize it. Will I just be able to walk into a AT&T store and get a SIM card and ask for service ? Will they object to the fact that I didn't purchase from them ? Will the phone function correctly with AT&T (internet, email, etc) ? Any advice will be appreciated .....Oh, if you get a chance, go to the COLORWARE site and see the custom Blackberries !!!!

AT&T officially allows unlocked phones on their system. You can definately get a SIM and the rate plan and term will depend on the rate you choose.

As far as internet and suych you may need help if it does not work right off the bat, although if it is intended for AT&T you might already have the right settings.

Good luck.

Yes, according to the site, the BB is intended to be used on the AT&T network. Would AT&T supply the help to make the phone functional or would I have to look for an outside source for the answers ?

Most likely you would need to look for outside help. Although I do not have the answers many here do. Try it first.

Good luck.

I'll call AT&T technical support before making the purchase. I wouldn't want to be stuck with a device that can't be utilized completely ....

as long as the PIM number is available, then when you register it on the network (ATT) it will send all the ATT packages to it to make it work as if it were an ATT phone.

Cheers!
