Has this happened to anyone else?

So anyways...I use Cingular and my friend uses Verizon...

Quite often already, we get our call dropped when we're on the phone together. At that point, I immediately dial her number and I get someone else on the line. She dials my number at the same time, and she gets some stranger on the line!

She assures me that this phenomenon happens only with me. It's strange...I guess it's Cingular's fault then, right? How is this possible? I dial her at Verizon, I get some stranger. She dials me at Cingular, she gets a stranger too...Is this possible?

I believe that's a spot dead on case of your "wires getting crossed".

It's called "crosstalk". I'm not sure how it occurs, and with what side. The only way I know of to resolve it is to speak with TSG, it may lay within the iHLR, or switch. It's possible you may need a troubleticket, too. With which side, I have no idea.

It's always Cingulars fault.

I would file a lawsuit.

This used to happen to me all the time in TN when they were switching the towers to GSM or least that's what they told me was causing the problems about 1 to 2 years ago. Only happened with Cingular customers. Someone would call me and get someone else, my phone would ring but some one I did know would be on the line, the problem persisted for about 1 month. I called support and they gave me estimate when the work on the towers or software for the towers or whatever would be finished and they were pretty dead on. This may be only the beggining of this phenomenon and it may continue for sometime, but at worst for me it only happened one to three times a week.

Its definitly on the Verizon side...CDMA networks are notorious with that happing..that is also why someone can also clone your Verizon# really easy of a radio....I havnt experienced anyone asking me about that on the cingular side+ GSM#'s cannot be cloned as easy .....its that crappy CDMA!

I only had this problem when I used to have ALLTEL. I called customer service and they told me that it had something to do with switching from a digital tower to an analog tower. I then went into the ALLTEL store and the rep told me that there are rare times when the CDMA software at a cell site redirects a call. He plugged my phone into the computer and did something with the service on it. I didn't have that problem ever again, but its definately on the CDMA side.
