Get out of Verizon skip free! No ETF

I'm sure you all have heard about this, but I thought I'd post a link for you. I will sure send this to all my V friends, Verizon blows!

The poster is flat out lying... For one, only the account holder can cancel, so this person did not get customers out of their contracts.

Second, per the terms in the contract there has to be an adverse material change, thus you need to be using the pay as you go texting service for it to be an adverse material change.

Third, VZW can issue a credit to the account to offset the rate change, thus removing it from being an adverse material change.

Fourth, the poster doesnt know VZW policy to know that it requires a supervisor to allow a customer to cancel for contract changes.

Fifth, this is an AT&T forum, not VZW 😛


It comes down to that the only people that are going to be able to cancel without penalty are the ones that are ...

Thanks. That is gteat information. 3 of my 4 lines have been ported away from VZ to AT&T and now I'm hopeful I can move the 4th and avoid the ETF and waiting until June when its contract is up. 🙂

they would start offering to PAY the ETF of those high paying customers who are still trapped on vwz. come on at&t! I know you can do it, you have the money to do it....

They don't have to. All they have to do is bring in subsidized phones like the K850, Nokia smart phones in the N series. There are still many many people who live from upgrade to upgrade and will not go outside the box to buy a phone that blows away all the branded and crippled form over function crap the carriers put out there.

A few Verizon users were more than willing to pay the ETF to get the iPhone which was not subsidized and cost $600!!! Thats only the beginning. The iPhone ...

In december of 2006, at&t was offering to pay peoples term fees via bill credits on their first bill. It was short but sweet. Financially profit margins aren't that big on your average customer and I'm sure they would cut our commissions if it were to become common place.
