I recently unlocked, unbranded, and updated the software of my Nokia N75 to:

V 10.2.055
24-04-07
RM-128
Nokia N75 (01.01)

Shortly after that, I keep receiving a few of these mysterious text messages a day. When I try to open them, the phone says:

Unable to open.
Message format not
supported.

The Inbox listed them as:

302 0
Mobile Email OZMAIL CI=7b217f...

When I highlight a message (newest one), select Options and Message details, it shows:

Sounds like the messages I receive when I take my SIM card out of my 8525 and put it into my LG CU500. What mine are is my sim card accessing my email account like i do on my 8525 through xpressmail. Your's sounds like your phone might be thinking it is set up for mobile email. did you ever sign up for that. if so try downloading that application again and see if that fixes it.

Sounds like you may have email notifications setup. That may be what the phone reads to let you know you have a new email using the email suite new phones come with nowadays. You may want to cancel that and see if that fixes your problem.

Would the email notification show up in your data record as a text message received? These mysterious messages do not show up on my data records at all. Anyway, how would I cancel email notification. Please excuse my ignorance, I'm a newbie! Thanks a lot.

I dont think you have the email program on your phone anymore now that you have done all that to it. But I would think you would need to go into the email program and delete your account so it stops sending alerts.

it's not a media net problem so that won't stop text messages. media net and downloads have nothing to do with text, text and voice use the channle and data is different. if you have used mobile email (the little program on all at&t phones) or the IM client built in it may be trying to let you know you have a message.

no problem. if you debraded the nokia you may be able to go to our website and download the mobile email program (or im), if not, try a different at&t phone and set it up and then sign out and then delete the account.
