The Problem with AT&T is...

that they have not come out with their own version of VZ Navigator.

And if you even say Telenav I am going to have to hire a dancing monkey carrying a toothbrush to stab you in your jaw with a sharpened jolly rancher, because that piece of junk BT GPS receiver likes to pick up a signal when its ready and not when you are. Not only that its bulky when you want to use your GPS outside of your own car, or when walking around. Not to mention it has a hard time pairing with pocket PCs.

So AT&T needs something like VZ navigator.

That is all

They need more phones with GPS.

Me, I would use Google Maps if I had a GPS phone. No need to pay a monthly for that.

i used a bt gps rec with windows live, when my phone would pair with the device lol.

i don't mind paying for it if its convenient, like the vz navigator.

and yes, more phones need to have GPS maybe there should be some light bulbs going off, but working in corporate america myself, i highly doubt it.

The reason they don't have GPS is because they don't have to. CDMA need to include a type of GPS to meet 911 standards, but GSM didn't. So since CDMA phones already have this capability, making software to utilize it in other fashions is a smart move.

Telenav really is bunk. I get better results for searches with google maps. I've put in exact addresses with street number, name, city, state, and zip code and had results returned from other cities.

I realize what you are saying, but with GPS being needed on their phone, they took that and made a very well capable application that i have found to be very useful.

i am just going to have to use a smart phone with built in GPS like the tilt or the new HP phone, because the BT Receiver is a piece of junk, and so is the 8525 trying to pair with it.

i prefer running windows live when the receiver decides to connect. you can get real time navigation using GPS on Windows live

Hey you are right, only problem is that once a map changes you have to get a new atlas, which last time i checked, it didn't up date itself, unless you know something i don't know, also please tell me how you conjure up your atlas while riding in a friends car, and if you say you pull out of your arse, then you may want to rethink saying that.

$6 new atlas each year. Check out wal-mart, big years printed on the front. Get the newest one.

Now if we can just get every getting lost prone person out there to buy an atlas we will be set. Hell maybe the car manufactures will just put one in everyones back seat when you buy a car. Even better, follow road signs. GPS is a huge waste of money.

First of all, wouldn't be caught dead in a Wal-Mart lol.

secondly, yes they come out every year, and every two days in Houston, something goes under construction, and there are detours every where, that is the beauty of GPS, built in on your phone, is the re routing, and its not a waste of money if its built in and you can run things like windows live, and now VZ has an unlimited plan that includes that with messaging.

but of course you are going to say switch to VZ, or learn how to read star charts to navigate, because besides reading an atlas that would be easy to read while driving, or walking around a city, let me just pull out my atlas from my back pocket and waste thirty minutes trying to figure out where I am at on a map. You can go to your states department of transportation or State Police website and they will have all the information on road closures and construction for the entire state. Why waste money into GPS when you have many more free resources to use.

Have you been to Houston? we are talking about an area that takes up 3 counties and has three different area codes for one city. you can drive from the north part of houston for thirty minutes without traffic and be right at downtown. if you called and asked a question like that they would laugh and hang up the phone. plus its easy to get lost in because it has a cr@p load of trees, trust me you get on a side street and end up in acres homes, you will wish you had GPS to find your way out, or else you will need a a firearm of some sort.

and if you have built in GPS on your phones, you don't to spend money, if you use Windows live.

when the bt GPS receiver decided to pair with my 8525, you could get real time navigation, without sp...
