Avgjoe
My theory is this; average joe is just your average joe and he cannot afford the iphone even at the new $300 & $400 price point, which is understandable and not worth being negative about. However, he is so angry about it that he quit his job at Pizza Hut, moved in with his parents, and has dedicated his life to bashing the iphone, maybe the most revolutionary wireless handset ever. Poor little fella, I almost feel sorry for him. Not really though.
PS I can't wait for his response it migh...

there is also a good camera comparison on www.gsmarena.com
I really would like to know from an iPhone buyer where the iPhone is better then the N95 enough to discount the myriad of areas the N95 Smokes the iPhone.
Here is some help
N95 3G
Better OS (open source)
Real GPS not "Google Maps"
Better browser for Wifi
Removeable/replacable battery
30FPS Video
5MP AF camera
MMS capable
Yes you can cut and paste
STEREO BT
Shows up as Drive on PC transfer of files drag and drop
FULLY implimented BT
Can be used on any GSM network without hacking.
Email push
I do not believe any of the above is on the IPhone
I believe after the subsidies The N95 will be the same or again maybe $100 more then the...

The amount of money that this is going to be costing, I will be shocked if this device would be subsidized, as AvgJoe is mentioning. The Iphone wasnรยขรขโยฌโขt so why would the 3G N95?

His original posts were about why he didn't understand how anyone who knew about the n95 would buy the iphone. I actually agree with hims on this, but I don't think your average dumb american could figure out the n95 so the iphone would be easier for most.
Thats right. All those bleeding edge of technology folks drooling at the coming iPhone. Did not even know the N95 existed for $100 more you got a whole lot more.
ANd yes Apple does have a way of appealing to those who would rather look at the pictures

n95 does look cool but it's not the amazingly better device you make it sound like. iphone is chill, I love it.
ITs far more then I make it out to be. Do the math.
Tell me where the iPhone is a better phone
Reception? NO
Screen SIZE? NO
Operating System? NO
Battery life? YES BUT you can actually replace the battery in the Nokia
Camera? Not by a long shot
MMS? NO
Smart Phone Features? NO
Blue Tooth Implementation? NO
Video recording? NO
Oh but the iPHOne has that cute little touch screen and iTunes.
Like I said Apple buyers are those who prefer to "look at the pictures" rather then read the book.

Don't forget that the iPhone doesn't have expandable memory. What are you going to do with 8 GB? I have the 30 GB iPod, and I used up 8 gigs with my music and 10 gigs with my movies and TV shows and I'm still not done. With pictures, ringtones, wallpapers, etc, the 8 gigs gets eaten up very quickly. If a phone has expandable memory, you can get Micro SD cards and switch them out when they're full. I hate the iPhone. It lacks so much and people drool all over it. You can't even sync it to work/corporate email. Just get a Blackberry Curve, Blackjack or N95. Screw this device until it comes with MMS, expandable memory and all the other vital features it lacks.

END THREAD HIJACK
However, the way mms is received is obviously bad, having to log into another website is lame. Also edge is bad, but the wi-fi has been doing a good job of making up for it. The edge on my iphone is twice as fast as the edge on my blackberry curve, I don't know why but it is.
Coincidently on the news section of phonescoop I think it just recently said that apple is buying an fcc spectrum so maybe they'll try to start their own network? hehe no idea what they'll be doing there but it's costing 4.6 billion.

I agree with you but aren't we all just becoming feature whores? The iphone is put together so well and so easy to use. To me so far, the browser is insane, the way the phone moves through pictures, music etc is excellent, touchscreen is flawless, I guess I just enjoy the apple make-up even though I am not an apple honk. I do not own a mac computer, I do not bow to Steve Jobs, I just love phones and I think this is a good one.

Catch a clue. Read what you are writing ARI.....GOLD (You wish)
By the way, what exactly is so "revolutionary" about the iPhone?

You can never generalize, because there could always be that person or people who would stand behind their statement, and frankly, I am one that would stand behind any of my statements.
His statement was not about you. In fact he did not generalize. 50% is hardly a generalization . In fact he may be a little conservative in his estimates of those who knee jerk purchase the flavor of the day only to find disappointment,

We've had touch screen phones for years, even if they were designed to be used with a stylus. The OS is slick, but it doesn't have nearly the ability of Windows Mobile.
I know. All flash no substance. But Like I have said before. Apple users tend to read a book by the pictures.
If he calls me a Kool-Aid drinker then so be it. I don't care. Calling names is childish. ๐
