Will the use of Cellular One towers improve my at&t phone performance? It seems that C1 has a better footprint in my area than at&t.

Well, I'm in Los Angeles County (South Bay/Long Beach), and since Cingular & at&t became one again, my service is worse. How that's possible I don't know?! Basically, for a market as big as LA/Orange County, I get crappy signal most of the time, most everywhere. Ugh. Sprint is worse though & I refuse to migrate over to Verizon. 😢

This is what our Area RAE and network team has informed us.

When they resent the Aplha tag to change your phone to say AT&T some of the OTA's that was suppose to of been sent with the phones didn't get sent. According to our network guy's 9 million people where affected by this. They told us to inform our customers to call in to customer service and have them resend the OTA's nad IRDB to the phone so they will get the updates. We've tried this on a couple of our customers and it worked! They use to get service in an area then after the name change they didn't so then we called in and it works agian, not sure if it's true or not but seems to work for us.

Thanks

Will I be affected? I happened not to be in the country to get those updates. Will I get them as soon as I get back and turn my phone on in Jan?

Tell them to resend you a OTA update, because you don't have service where you use to. To re-push a update to your phone.

I think it has to do with that area...I went there when I still had Verizon while I was in college with my Dad while he was there on Business, and he also had Verzion...he roamed and I roamed and my friend from LA came to pick me up in OC and he was roaming as well, and he had a 310 area code cell.

That area is just bad for reception for some reason.

I even did that thing where you dial in *228 or something like that to reset your phone and nada.
