New At&t employee

wirelesspilot

Hey everyone, just thought I'd say hi from a new AT&T employee. Still in customer care training, so should I run for the hills now, or do those of you that work for AT&T like it? I figured I'd finally join phone scoop since I've been reading posts on here during down time in class lol

How much training do you get as a new employee? I am a customer of ATT, but work for the competition. We put our new employees through several hundred hours of online training, and an average of 50 hours of classroom training per year. That's not including the hands-on training that they do before they are turned loose on the customers. Then, they are on a 30-90 day probation period. How does that compare with your training?

Well I'm in week 4 of a 5 week new hire class, then we have 2 weeks of OTJ training. I know we have a 90 day probation period, which I think includes the classroom time but I'm not sure. As for ongoing training I know they do training throughout the year too as new policies and equipment are introduced.

As a thought exercise, I think it would be interesting to evaluate your current attitudes and feelings in regards to the industry and customers.

After some time, I imagine it would be quite interesting to see how much (if any) your thoughts and paradigm change.

Prepare to become jaded đŸ¤Ŗ

Welcome! Me being a Transformers fan wants to say "Bah weep grannah weep nin bon!"(which folks who've seen the 1986 movie know what I'm talking about!)

I've been working in the industry for a Premeir agent for AT&T. I hope you enjoy the job because it can be very rewarding if you're kind to your customers.

Must be nice. I left a job in another call center to come to work here and at the other center I had worked my way up to being off the phones most of the time. But such is the price you pay to work closer to home lol 😁

i like taking sup calls, the customers stop yelling at you because they figure you have so much more power than the last person they talked to but usually are clueless that for the most part the first rep that answers the phone can see that the issue is resolved, if you're nice to them anyway.

i love taking sup calls also.....you can get more of an attitude with the customers and then they have less of an attitude towards you for some reason.

i would probly rather sit and take sup calls all day than taking regular calls....you end up talking to way more "interesting" people.
