I cannot for the life of me remember where I saw it, but one of the sites (possible engadget?) had an article in which they were guessing a timeframe of April-May 2008 for the 3G version. I sincerely hope they are wrong....

Found it - from CNN.com

"This strategy would fit with iPhones, which look set to run over slower 2.5G networks, possibly until March 2008, analysts say."

No way am I waiting until March/April to upgrade!!!

Hey, I betcha the next iPhone will have 16GB's of internal memory also.

Do you rememeber 2 or 3 months ago, reading an article on PhoneScoop about Samsung developing 16GB nand memory? I think it's very possible that there will be a 16GB iPhone before summer of '09.

Personally I'm waiting for AT&T to launch MobileTv, supposedly 4th qtr this year.

I thought I read somewhere about a projected 3G model by the end of the year. Maybe that was wishfull thinking. 😕

We may see it sooner than expected though. Most of what i have read said that they might as well not bother attempting to sell a 2.5G phone in europe or asia so that may force the hand on a 3G device.

Receive the day's biggest stories by email, sign up here A new 3G (European) version of the iPhone will be launched Monday in the UK by Apple - in a joint promotion with Vodafone, T-Mobile of Germany, and Carphone Warehouse.
