since the rumors started about the iPhone.....i wanted it. But now that the realse date is getting closer..Im thinking. If i ever lost or damaged that phone, i would prob. cry. And of course it wont be insured by lockline. I would be so scared to carry it around with me and use it. Ive had a ton of bad luck in the past with losing cell phones,,,, and damaging them for that matter. I have a se w810 now and i dont think twice about throwing it into my pocket or bookbag.. but the iPhone i would prob. have to put in bubble wrap and lock it onto my belt! I dont know. 500 dollars would be alot to lose..or damage. does anyone else feel like this?
...
are you serious..? no insurance..???? so if i loose it or break it..thats it..???? im out 600 buks...wow..this just made my decision soooooo much easier...!
...
🤣
You thought it would be insured?
...
well why not..sprint insures all their phones..and you get a 1year in store warranty so if something happens..they'll swap it out for free.
...
Warranty and insurance are two different things. The more details that come out about this, the more it looks like it's going to be an "Apple" product, but you can get service through Cingular. That would mean you need to think of it like an iPod. Don't be surprised if you see them offering an AppleCare extended warranty.
Cingular/at&t never offered insurance on a PDA until the E62. There's no freakin way the iPhone would be covered.
...
wow..thats sucks..i would think the more expensive the phone..the better the insurance...why would i want insurance on a free flip phone..? that doesnt make sense...well i was going 2 port but...no 3g...pricy data/voice/text plans, no removable batt, no sd card slot...well i guess i'll stick wit sprint for anther year and wait for wimax to roll around.
...
You speak like a customer. I thought you were an employee of one of the carriers.
...
nope..i just luv the phone world...i do work in communications..but not for the wireless companies...
...
My mistake then. Sorry for the earlier comment. It's no longer funny knowing you're not an employee.
...
🤣 it is to mee though. 🤣
...
why would the iphone have an sd slot? when its got a 4gig or 8 gig memory already in it? the data plans arent all that bad either.. get the 19.99 media max plan for unlimited internet.... just put a lg 500 or other 3g phones imei in there and there you go...
plus insurance can also be done on www.mobileprotech.com
...
the removable mom isnt just for space..but for intractability with other devices...like a digital camera for once..lets say im out on vacation..or just out period take a pic..and want to email..how can i..??? with a sd card..i can remove it from my camera...put it in my treo...and i can do what ever i want...lets say my friend has a song on his card i want it...take card out put it in i have it..with the iphone i'll have to be by a computer at all times..whats the point of a mobile phone if i need a third-party computer...????
...
now im paying under $60 unlimited data evdo unlimited texts unlimited mobile to mobile N&W starts at 6pm and 1000 anytime minutes...i already calculated it with Att all im getting now would cost me in the 150's amonth..and it would be only 2g..on the iphone i dont think thats worth it.
...
yep. and you can go buy a V6 Kia cheaper than a 4 cylinder Toyota!
...
your analogy has faults...you should have compared toyota to honda...then again...sprint's voice/data network is superior to att
...
You're definitely drinking the kool-aid.
...
come on...this arguement will be pointless since your gsm..but its true...CDMA is waaaay more crisp than gsm...remember sprint's old slogan..? so clear you can hear a pin drop...it was contested but...proven to be true...
...
I think that was actually static on the line.
...
Sprint used to suck back then. I used to have sprint then when they had the flip phones with black and white screens. I was dropping about 75% of my calls anywhere I was. I am in southeast michigan and it still sucks after 6 years! Verizon is the best I have never dropped a call with them in the six years I have been with them. And I like that they have standard UI because I dont have to learn how to use a phone everytime I get a new one!
...
I was talking to my girl on Sprint last night and her phone dropped me three times.
Maybe she's just trying to break up with me. 😢
...
that was for their land line service. given, the right circumstance and right conditions, ANY phone can be made to hear a pin drop.
also, they had some of the most misleading commercials ever like ralph said about the static... it's impossible to 'hear' static on a digital phone and sprint has always been pcs and on digital, it's interference, not static. static applies to analog, which at the time most carriers had analog and sprint was attacking those companies, just like it is comparing their broadband vs. our edge... not a good comparison.

Don't get to pumped about the iphone!
According to our Account rep it will ONLY be available to
1. NEW ACTIVATIONS 2 year contract only
2. IT CANT BE BOUGHT OUTRIGHT
3. IT ISN'T AVAILABLE ON UPGRADES
Cingular The new at&t has a 5 year exclusive on it to.
...
Did I sound pumped?
Stop with the rumors. I'm tired of hearing unvalidated postulations.
...
It's not a rumor, its from my Account rep and our ARSM. Bet you $100 on it.
...
And we all know our RAE's know everything. I got a memo from our VP this morning saying it's available to new and existing customers, and available through COR and Apple retailers. Two days ago there was a memo saying it would only be sold as an outright purchase and only from Apple retailers.
You can take those words for that they are, which is warm smoke up your rear. Nothing is official until it's on the shelves.
...
Who needs a $600 phone?
Buy an Ipod and get over it.
...
Geeze, why do people think I'm buying an iPhone just because I point out they're being retarded?
I have an iPod. I have a Curve. I don't want the iPhone.
