iphone discounts!

I am contemplating switching to At&T. I was just wondering if there will be any price breaks for new customers purchasing the iphone? I figure if not, I could always get another popular phone they are offering discounts on and sell it on ebay to offset my iphone pricing...if so, what is Cingular's most expensive, popular phone? Any of you reps out there have any advice? Thanks guys!

None of which is confirmed, so hold off for an official Apple/AT&T release.

How Hi do you think the Iphone will go on Ebay? I bet you could pay for two years of service if supplies are low enough. Not to mention the shear number of people wanting to just purchase the phone out right. Or mark up over 175 and eat the ETF...

it's not limited to just new customers. existing customers can get it too and everyone will be able to renew their contract to get it.

Here in The Washington/ Baltimore market I was told the phone would be offered to New customers as well as Upgrading customers and that it could be purchased out right.

That is a terrible idea that will generate tons of churn, both from customers leaving to come back as "new" so they can get the phone, as well as people simply put off by the whole thing and leaving for good. As a currently-existing Cingular customer, if I were interested in an iPhone, I would be quite angry if there were no means whatsoever to get the phone.

But thats not the way its going to happen from my understanding. Its going to be offered to all customers from what I head at our last meeting.

The iphone is not going to be worth getting for the first few mos. There will be kinks that need to be worked out, just with any other phone. My suggestion is to wait a few mos before getting one.

LOL,I just meant that whenever something new comes out, there are always issues for teh first few mos, something they have to work out. No apple is not moto, but they aren't perfect.

I agree, I'm waiting 'till the nov-dec timeframe to purchase one - they should have a 3g by then, and my piggy bank should have enough nickels and dimes by then....
