1 year contracts?
Are 1 year contracts still available with ATT/Cingular? I heard they were supposed to be done away with but telesales and most reps still offer them in stores... anyone know the official word?

If you bring your own phone, and don't want mobile to mobile, you can get a plan with it and no not have to get a contract.
Mobile 2 Mobile is considered a promo offer and you have to sign a contract to get it.

We are being told that even then,the option is not there. I do work in a 3rd party call center for CS so i may be wrong. Everything changes here

If it's not an option in your POS you have to call c/a to get it done. (only for new cust, not upgs)

Tru dat. In OPUS there are no more 1YRs on activations. I could do a 1YR on an upgrade though yesterday, the option was there. I'm in a TLG market.
But yesterday I called C&A to activate an aircard for my father who had his own equipment and I told the rep I wanted it to be at least on a 1YR, but if she could get a no commit that would be cool. A few minutes later she said she had an option that said "NEW0" (new-zero) so I asked her to pick it. Once the act was done the aircard was on a 1 month contract, but naturally the 30 day BRE period still applies, so it's like he's not on a contract.
