I used to use a Trac-Phone, but I got tired of in a hurry.
I have heard good and bad things from reading these forums.
My question is this: I need acarrier with great coverage and good voice quality, I will not be using it for data transfers.
I can not decide between ATTWS, Verizon or T-Mobile.
I know this is ATTWS forum, and there are a lot of people who use ATTWS on, if you had to start all over again, would of you still gone with ATTWS?
I'm new to this, so please don't "cut my head off".
Most of you seem to have a lot of info, about a lot of different aspects of the cellular world.
I do a lot of traveling up and down the eastern seaboard(mostly florida and New England),I need analog also for those areas that do...

Don't know much about att.. so i'm not gonna touch on that.. but i'll touch on vzw and t-mobile. (by the way i live in northeastern ct.. in that new england boat you mentioned, and i'm currently a 2 year vzw customer considering a switch to attws)
VZW = decent coverage.. that's right DECENT.. not outstanding or excellent.. but decent. You can usually make a call, though plenty of times i've gotten the "no service" line. They use CDMA technology.. which unfortunately means its got crappy voice quality. That's the first thing i noticed after switching from t-mobile. Verizon offers roaming in analog (in a lot of their plans now it's free).. however.. if you're in the populated northeast you'll get digital signal, or nothing at all. The places ...

Sorta/yes/no....

VZW has great coverage along the eastern seaboard. Perhaps you didn't find it to your liking, but they are rated great. They do use a CDMA network, but unlike Sprint PCS, their network is actually good. Their plans are more expensive, but comparatively in coverage, the AC plan gives you a lot. It is very close to the Single Rate or OneRate plans. One problem is that the plan changes coverage depending on their roaming agreements (they can drop/add agreements from time to time).

T-Mobile is a good carrier in general, however they run on GSM. GSM is a great system with the advantages you listed, but if the guy needs analog he won't like GSM. If you plan to travel up and down the seaboard via flying, GSM is great because ...

😲
you do not have to go w/ expensive plans to be w./ AWS.they do have GAIT phones such as ERIC t62U and SIEMENS S46.they are multi band plans which are the exact same as either the GSM and TDMA plans.except for their Shareable plans.
the ERICSSON is true GAIT.Analog,TDMA and GSM.the SIEMENS only GSM and TDMA. so its both good because when travelling from S MAINE to FLA.i did not find to many deads spots and quite good coverage.but just nmake sure youy phone reads ATT WIRELESS before making calls beucae if it doesn;t roaming can be pretty steep @ $.69/min and $.20/min for LD unless you on DOR which its all inclusive.
enjoy the read.
