Attention Reps...

Hey there, I've noticed this consumer-based site seems to have become, especially in this forum a venting ground for reps. also that the majority of reps here are all about things being an issue with either their vendor site, the consumer themselves, or with policies put forth by a company which is responsible for your paychecks.
My suggestion, perhaps if you have an issue take it up with your supervisor, or hey, if you dislike your work so much do the rest of us reps who want to help the consumer a big favor and go find a job elsewhere, where your total distain for the human race will not pollute our workspace.
I work with many other great people, and I do hear from many reps here that they genuinely want to help the consumer, so this is ...

haha i agree. why are you on this site if you don't like the venting!? c'mon, its just about sharing stories on the day. I love helping out customers who are willing to let me assist, and i don't feel intruded when someone calls, it is my job-i know! I just like to be treated with the same respect that I treat the customers with. I would never call a service providor of mine and yell at them! anyways... thanks for the insight i suppose... really the only thing i don't think would be right is if we used names of cust's... which we don't... and when we use the proprietary system names... which some do... but hey.. whatever.

yup yup i vent in this forum and not cingular's, as customers are directed to that carrier section to view and compare fones, this is the forum most blue reps have adopted as a vent/info forum 😉

The customers you bend over backwards for and they show no gratitude

The customers who call in and want their bill credited, bot for any real reason, but because they don't want to pay it, then putting us in a position where we know this and cannot say it to them, lest we be considered 'rude'

The customers who feel like yelling because they've been frustrated to the point of rage, and nothing short of 'Here's some free money' will keep them from raging.

Your optimistic view on every-call philosophies is touching, but my "distain" (dictionary.com, use it) for customers stems from the same broad stroke of ig'nance that paints everybody red unless they get something for nothing. I like dealing with people. I hate dealin...

Every call, with a friendly "If I give you x amount on credit, will you hang-up and never call again?

Yes = credit 🙂

No = Statement about how we have a situation developing here 😛

you're goin to end up one of the 65 year olds who sits in their cubicle and treats this ****ty job like its a career.

so you go ahead and tell us all to "treat others like we would like to be treated" and act all keener-ish. in the meantime, we will go on with our venting and gettin a laugh out of customers stupidity

this is a management person...who really doesn't get that venting is healthy and normal and that well....I am a good rep but enjoy a good laugh...they can go hand in hand

Please tell me you don't actually believe that steaming load you delivered on my digital doorstep.

I tells ya what mate, when you can pay my bills and all that jazz then I'll be a happy little automaton for ya and looove my job. Until then, face reality and accept that certain parts of the job suck and it is by venting about them that I avoid the urge to go to work with an AK on fine day.

So in short, eat a bag of dicks.

It's a job! if you like it, love it, or hate it all together, its still just a job!
Pay me more and I'll be more mindful of how much I complain, I wont need to complain as much, thats for sure.....
We're always hearing blah blah this company is better in this area, this company is better in that area...well I know Verizon gets a lot better starting pay than we do! Lets face it...if your employees are happy your company will thrive.
