Reception concerns
Aye, you're home and work are what AT&T's network consist of ENTIRELY. LOL.
Come to my home and my work and my school and around my area, THEN complain ;)
And actually, they sold because it was profitable. The stock price zoomed up because of the buyout/merger and hence, everyone who owned stock got money money money. Green was the reason they got bought out, plain and simple.

I was just refering to AT&T's GSM service take a look at just there GSM coverage and then compair that to one of the other GSM carriers Coverage...There TDMA service is pretty damn good. Rivaling Verizon in many areas. At&T wasn't able to raise there stocks by being a company that customers were willing to stay with (not profitable) There stocks raised with the promise of Cingular taking over, a more profitable company.
1) Their coverage is equal to others. Why? Because they all friggin have roaming agreements. It's not like another GSM carrier can use any other towers other than GSM...
2) Service Quality is based upon many things, one of which is tower buildout, which AWS has, I...

AT&T Wireless has been profitable the ENTIRE TIME. Cingular isn't stupid and wouldn't buy an unprofitable company silly. The problem AT&T Wireless had was with churn and retention of customers, which was still quite low considering Cingular lost THREE TIMES more customers then AT&T Wireless did last quarter, a few years ago. All companies have their upsets 🙄.
Quit stereotyping AWS GSM service just because its coverage hasn't had time to build out, silly! 😛
Trouble Shooting Tips
Try and see if the issue persists over 3 miles from the location you are currently at if it does then this is a device issues. Reception issues will not carry over multiple towers unless theres a problem with a switch. This is an extremely rare issue with GSM service.
If you are dropping alot of calls or not connecting in certain areas turn the phone off and on. When you are transfered from tower to tower this can sometimes cause you to drop calls and This is the leading reason for dropped calls. Nothing...

ATT treats their employees extremely well. Huge profit sharing checks, (over 1400.00 last year)
The attendence issue is the same as it is anywhere else. It is not 3 absences per year. Its 6 absence occurences in one year. If you are sick for 8 days from the same thing, all you need is a doctor's note, and it counts as one occurence. If you have a severe medical condition, you are entitled to FMLA, if you have been with the company for a year. If you haven't been with the company for a year, you would get comany medical leave, which they are not required by law to extend to their employees. No one will get fired for having a long call. There are many issues which simply can not be handled that quickly. They are pushi...

AT&T GSM sucks everywhere(nearly) 😢 Thinks that one major reason the got bought out
That is simply not true. AT&T GSM is the same as Cingular GSM. Since GSM came to the US, AT&T and Cingular have been putting up GSM towers in a joint venture.
I use AT&T GSM and I travel constantly. I have had no problems with it in L.A., New York, Austin, Denver* (near the airport it is a little sketchy) San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago and countless other places.
AT&T's motives for selling out were simply about the bottom line. They went through a rough 4th quarter last year because of that whole LNP mess, and Cingular made an offer they couldn't refuse.
Its also interesting to note ...

I'm not sure if it was just me, or if its a GSM thing.
