You do get nailed with the ETf, when you migrate you have to take a new contract, and if you want to cancel out of your new contract, you have to revert to what you had before, if you don't we nail you with the ETF, and since we own our own collection agency, we will write you off,and smash your credit report in the process.

We already had people try and they all got burned who tried.its the same thing if you renew for whatever, you can opt out of the newer contract under buyers remorse, but you have to revert to whatever you had befroe the extention to avoid ETF's.

To put it more tactfully

No.

If your under contract with ATTWS and migrate to Cingular and then cancel, you will be charged the ATTWS ETF if you don't go back to your old service.

Austins Analogy in his final paragraph is a good way to look at it.
If your under contract for 3 more months and call in to get a *RENEW promo* for a 1 yr contract and then change your mind within 30 days, Your still held to the previous contract with 3 months left.

Tell me about it, i already have to do about 5 re-rates in the next few weeks, damn promotions, we see stacked promos on the account, we have to take them off, inform the customer and then offer a re-rate for the cycle they are in right now!!!! More work then i like on top of my normal calls.
