Was making 10.00 in training. 2.5 yrs later making 12.50. Raise coming in a few months. But there are talks (rumors) about a base pay raise. Which as always. I will believe it when I see it.

You will always make less at an outsourcer. I left Verizon for just that reason and now I'm making 2 dollars more an hour and get free phone service. Hated working for outsource, you are doing a job that someone across the street (figuratevly speaking) makes alot more.

If you can go w/ corporate you can't loose.

unless of course your corporation goes t*ts up. corp aws employees are gonna be looking over their shoulders waiting for the shoe to drop. The center I work for has a contract with Cingular, so we aren't gonna be termed for at least the legnth of that contract.

Ahh, but Cingular can choose to buy out the contract, if they want to be F$##ks.Then what? In all reality, I do NOT want to be a CSE rep. No one knows whats going on, and I don't really like the way they do business. So I hope that we do have our contract bought out, and start something new

yeah, security is a relative term, where security means 'there is probably a job for you on Monday' and no security means 'apply now for part time server position'. I like the job itself, but management knows we are expendable cogs in the vast machine of evil, so I dunno... beats being a sandwich artiste though...

Been there, done that...hehehe. Just keep your eyes and ears open for jobs in the same field. Don't let this centre, and all of their ego-tripping "higher ups" get you down. Apply, apply, apply. The good thing at least is knowing that we are expendable sucks for them, because all tenured reps leave for greener grass, and most that's here is new hires, constantly not knowing what is going on. HAHAHAHA.That'll teach 'em to not appreciate us

Another thing that sucks about outsourcing is a comment a few posts back. The level of knowledege and interest is so much higher at a corpotate CC. No bitching about "this sucks I don't want to learn anymore." Adapt or die this is constantly changing technology.

Outsource dosen't have to worry about this because they way be doing credit card activations tomorrow.

that is so much crap,vr. I work at an outsource center, and when we went BEUC they had people from greensboro up to train us and floor walk while we were nesting and they were all amazed by our attitude. they kept going on about how jazzed we were to be doing BSR stuff and the reps in our center were all gung ho about sorting out issues for customers etc. It seemed to me that the reps that they dealt with normally were less motivated, and I got the impression that they were corporate care. In my dealings with other reps I am frequently (though less so in recent months)amazed at the lack of phone skills, lack of any functional grasp of the english language and lack of any sort of knowlege of systems displayed by the people on the other end o...

talkin about security... that is such BS, because in our local paper, our call center was called out in the sense that we were formally BLUE, and now they are laying off administrative positions, but at this moment 'keeping all service impacting jobs'. Yea, ok, what does that mean...? they mentioned our address in this huge article in the Business section, talk about a wake up call... i dont think anything is set in stone, and most of us are just sitting here waiting! 🙄

I work for a vendor site and we start at $8.50/hr thru training (2 Wks). During the first year, you get a couple of raises. Once you hit the one year mark, you are only increased by 15 cents per hour per year. I have been stuck here for just over 3 yrs and I am now making a base wage of $10.45. We are offered insurance (but it's too expensive for most of us to afford). As far as the HaHa to the ego-centrical management that loose their tenured reps and have nothing but newbies who don't know what they're doing... Well our bad management apparently thinks that is "cost effective" and they make sport by doing what us reps call "going pin happy". This is where they over-hire, then decide to take disciplinary action against every rep they c...
