Verizon Vs T-Mobile
Verizon has better coverage than Tmobile yes. however, do you need the coverage Verizon boasts so much about? Seriously, most verizon customers only use their cell phone around town and in their homes, places that Tmobile get the exact same coverage around, and V Customers are paying up to $20-$30 more per month for this! Unless I go to BFE (ButF****ingEgypt) then my Tmobile phone works great, and in some places better than verizon, if I ever travel outside the united states I will also be able to use my quad band GSM phone.
If I do not like Tmobiles selection of phones I will buy a European or Japanese phone off Ebay like the Nokia N90 (look that bad boy up you Verizon Fan Boys)
Streaming Video... Vcast only works ...

Thats why T mobile lets you roam for free on other networks.
Well they lose the ability to roam of Cingular by years end. Hey has anyone noticed how these t-mobile folks seem to go from forum to forum bash every other carrier saying how great their coverage is. If you look at their map it likes like someone had a baby sneeze. Personally I think that if a carrier needs people to go on public forums and bash other carriers they must be having problems. Not to mention t-mobiles shady commercials. Really do not trust that carrier.

Thats because as T mobile customers we no what good service is about we have been with other carriers and we have finnally found one that gives us the best value out their. I m sorry that we make you guys jealous
I actually like T-Mobile. They have good CS, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and awwww, their tiny widdle network is soooo cute. 😁
I think, in my humble opinion, that verizon is a lot better then tmobile for a few reasons.
1. bigger network and coverage area
2. 3g data products
I just think you really can’t compare tmobile USA to verizon yet especially since tmobile USA has many things to do before they can even compare themselves to them.
Yes, tmobile USA does offer some good services and products, however, not against verizon’s robust network (coverage area) and 3g products and services. As much as I agree with that tmobile USA has very good customer care and awards, they are no match of verizon. Compare the quarterly subscribers growth from the two carriers, you can’t.
anyway, it was a great dialogue that we have now and been having but I am going to be going now, so have a great Friday and weekend and will look forward on continuing our dialogue on Monday.
Cingular is JUST 5 years old.
Sprint is way old.
Nextel anyone?
T-Mobile is three years old.
There isn't that much difference. Two years isn't going to put any company over the top. Age is no indication of a company's wellness. Look at Sprint for the proof.
You are mistaken. Cingular wasn't formed by "many others". They were formed by only two companies, Bellsouth Mobility, and SBC.
They did absorb AT&T but the fact remained that they were still Cingular.
Cingular was formed by SBC and Bellsouth. That's two. When they absorbed AT&T the fact remaied that they were still Cingular.
T-Mobile is a combination of a few smaller regional carriers. Voicestream and Omnipoint are the two majors that I can think of now.

Jealous of what? The only carrier I think Cingular needs to worry about is Verizon. My understanding is Verizon has good customer service and coverage. T mobiles coverage sucks and they use deceptive advertising, by making people think they will be billed for roaming charges for 911 calls or use up airtime. This is the biggest lie ever! T mobile may not say this exactly but the imply it in their ads.

I live in the woods and my verizon phone works amazing in and out of my house. My friend has T-mobile and he has to go down the street to get service.
So all in all verizon vs tmobile.
UH UH Definite Knock Out with one punch Verizon wins
A few more dollars a month is well worth going with Verizon over T-Mobile, for the majority of us all.
T-Mobile will definitly save you a few bucks a month if you're not going to be using your phone on the go, but in my case it's safer to stick with the bigger guys.
1. That post wasn't for you.
2. I was talking about my personal experience.
3. I said for the majority of us it is better to be safe and go with one of the bigger guys. I don't think that most of us stay within the city limits of a large city at all times. If you move around a good bit, T-Mobile is simply not for you. Period.
Just wondering, how many of you guys live in Oklahoma?
Two? Okay...
Heck, looking at T-M's national coverage map, in most states their network looks like a skinny little spiderweb. They've got the largest highways and largest urban areas covered ok, but that's about it.
I have had Verizon,Cingular, and T-mobile, and they all suffer from Dead spots.
I have 3 phones with Verizon, and 6 with T-mobile,No complaints from any of the users .

Even with his argument though, Verizon is a mere 2 years older and has seen the most incredible growth of all the wireless companies out there. What is it? Something like nearing a 30 million (marjority being organic) increase in subscribers in the past 5 years. I think T-Mobile can hold claim to about a 7 million subscriber increase in the last three.

Yawn... so? Look up the Samsung 970 while you're at it, T-Mobile fan boy. 🙄
Streaming Video... Vcast only works in 25% of the market.
Actually, EVDO covers 40% of the market currently, expanding to 50+% by end of year.
we all know GSM is superior to CDMA
We do? Is that why more people in the US are on CDMA than GSM? Or why CDMA is growing worldwide at a rate of 27% per year?
I think you've been watching too many Catherine Zeta-Jones commercials... not that th...

LET'S FACE IT GSM IS ALMOST DEAD,
WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU ""GSM is superior to CDMA""" YEAH RIGHT.......GSM STILL A 2.5G TECHNOLGY CDMA 3G, WITH FASTER DATA SPEEDS THAN GSM BASED "GPRS" NETWORKS AND IN MATTER FACT THEY CAN NOT COMPETE WITH CDMA SPEEDS.
HOPEFULLY THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY THE SUCCESOR OF GSM, CALLED
WCDMA-UMTS CAN ACTUALLY STAND NEXT TO CDMA NETWORKS, NOT TO MENTION THESE NEW UPCOMING TECHNOLOGIES ARE STILL BASED ON CODE DIVISION MULTIPLE ACCESS CDMA
MY THREE CENTS
another thing you might want to note,
GSM signal is limited to about 34 km distance away from towers so I do not think voice quality is better than cdma in which cdma signal can travel up to 120km or even more.
Props to Verizon for whatever their secret is.

GSM is way better for voice and CDMA is way better for data.
I dunno... maybe it may say that in the T-Mobile rep training guide, but that doesn't make it so.
Check out the results of JD Power's latest national study on Call Quality... Verizon won. Yup, that's a CDMA carrier, tops in Call Quality:

Far as CDMA being 'way better for data', I don't think there's anything intrinsic to CDMA that makes it far superior overall for data over GSM. Perhaps T-Mobile folks just think it is because Verizon has their 3G high-speed data network rollout well under way, while T-M hasn't even rolled out EDGE yet?
