I read this when it came out. And as I have an iPhone 4 and recently had a Sprint 3G/4G hotspot, totally agree ATT and Sprint lags behind VZW and TMO in my area. ☹️

Supposedly ATT invested something like $19bln the past year, doesn't seem to have made all that much of a difference. Yet Tmo is a third the size of ATT and they have HSPA 21 in most it's markets, and HSPA 42 in some. ATT just hords money for it's stock holders.

That's why I left ATT 15 months ago, they were stagnant then, and are still stagnant now.

They upgraded the towers but they didn't upgrade the backhaul to support it.

I swear ATT is a bunch of dumbasses! ! ! They spend $19bln on upgrading towers, but don't bother to upgrade backhaul, that's just sooo stupid! ! !

They even had an article on it recently saying that they didn't feel it was necessary until all of its network was ready. They have upgraded the back haul at certain locations but they won't release the tower locations with the improved back haul support.

I'm not positive but I think I heard Las Vegas has inproved backhaul.

ATT's lack of ambition really, really bothers me. But heck, we've got Verizon who cares about nexgen networks and speed.

My Verizon usb card is sick fast. If I didn't have like literally 20 devices hooked up to my dsl internet I would give it up and go wireless. The laptop I use it with is usually faster than my home service. 🤣

This isn't a direct response to this particular article, it's mostly in response to another "test" that showed Sprint only doing 1mbps. BGR stated that their own experiences did not match what these "tests" are showing.

"While we did find Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network to be significantly faster than that during our review of the HTC ThunderBolt, our tests support Sprint’s stance and further suggest that BTIG’s testing may have been flawed".

Good thing that Sprint would never spin things in their favor. 🙄

So I guess that you missed the report by the independent testing firm that supported Sprint's claims?
