Beating a dead horse here

I just have to get this off my chest in hopes that the Verizon reps are actually reading this. I have not renewed my contracts (4) phones because I am waiting for the easy out on you guys. I look everyday for new phones to come in and everyday I see the same old lame bunch. I need a pda phone (your q was terrible). I need a camera phone for the hubby, a cool phone for the teen and just a down & dirty for mom. If you watch the other guys, they at least listen to their customers and try to offer what they want. They don't alsways get it right, but they show that they are listening. I am just waiting for at&t to get better coverage in this area and then I am gone. If they don't I will be looking at all other options (except for Sprint). Come on...

well rumor I can understand your frustration but you dont want to go elsewhere you wont get the same service.

as for phones there are 3-4 PDAs coming out in the next 2-3 months and several standard handsets that should meet all 4 of your fancies.

we'll forward that right on to our president/manufacturers. I'm sure that they will appease your demands, since you have... 4...phones. out of 60 million +. if we don't work for you, get someone else that does. I'm not meaning to be harsh, but the demands of an individual consumer will NEVER sway such a huge corporation; we as employees don't even get a say, and we're alot closer than consumers.

Rumor23 represents many customers frustration with the poor selection of phones. Even with the recent announcments I am still porting 5 numbers in a few weeks when my contract is up. Moto Qs are lousy (I have one) and the BB Pearl is not what I am loooking for in a PDA.

clearly. which is why we have over 60 million post-paid, and VERY low churn (cancellations). I apologized for being harsh, but that is honestly what MOST of the employees on this site think when people bash a certain phone/selection/carrier WHILE THEY ARE SIGNED UP WITH THEM. Trust me, we've heard it. ALL of it. I just had a customer NOT save $40 a month b/c they wanted to be an a$$hole about their old plan, and not save money by switching to a new one. Were you talking to me face to face, I would be as courteous and as blunt as I have been; I have a very loyal customer base that grows b/c of my honesty about this company and all the phones that we sell. I still have Sprint, and just upgraded with Sprint; still work for Verizon, which ...

pointless whining prior to porting out. we haven't met their individual needs ๐Ÿคฃ

I had a lady last night DEMAND a pink chocolate; the discontinued ones. I had several free phones for her, would have discounted them, even the pink Razr, but she said that the pink razr was "light" pink, and that she hated all the other phones. she didn't end up getting one, b/c she didn't see on that she "loved." You...Casio Gzone (can take a big beating, and its big enough to not get lost in a purse)

Hubby...New Q9m that comes out next week or the Samsung i760.

Kids....EnV, Choc, LG 9400, or LG 8700...all are trendy, cool, and have all the features a teen could ever want/need.

Besides the iphone and the curve, WHAT DOES ATT HAVE...their regular phones are pathetic and no better/worse than anything verizon has. And their data network is not nearly as broad or as capable as VZW's

Yes, their PDA's are better, but by the end of the year we will see who has the best smart phones...

ATT coverage is suspect and the voice quality is terrible right now. I would rather wait for cool phones, that wait for the network to step up!

Verizon has been easing up on the crippling of late... if said phones were released using a 'less crippled' bluetooth stack, the way they did with the LG 8700 or enV or Moto Maxx, then I think most ppl will be ok with that. If not, then I think its a problem.

In any case, still beats switching to ATT and their inconsistent network.

she never really mentioned anything about bluetooth profiles in her original post. And verizon has eased up of late on their bluetooth strictness.

Cell phone companies are a business, if you owned a business and could charge $2-3 per ringtone, or you could let customers transfer them for free...which one would you choose?

If att was smarter they would do the same thing verizon does!

There's a reason why verizon is #1. As a business person you have to respect the way they do things. Atleast I do.

Rumor 23,

I feel your pain. I don't blame the sales reps, but they could take a more professional posture when a customer is frustrated, that is part of the job.

I don't think it is too much to ask for a good network and a decent selection of phones. I can't wait until the day I can leave Alltel, but I am waiting for the HTC 6800 or whatever VZW will call it. I am using a PPC6700 which is almost 2 years old, which is still being carried by VZW. Today, that phone is considered ancient, it is past time to replace it.

VZW does have the best network as a whole, but they also have some of the highest plan prices to match. So when a customer pays a premium price they expect coverage, they expect a decent selection of relatively curre...

Take a more professional posture? I'm not sure I agree with you here. It's one thing to be courteous and professional to people that you're handling in person. Over the internet, you have the ability to anonymously state your honest opinion on something. If someone is being stupid, you can tell them they're being stupid instead of having to take the "customer is always right" mentality.

So yes, it's part of the job. Phonescoop, however, is not part of my job. It's an outlet where I'll give you an honest, blunt answer if it's warranted.

Im sorry to say it but what primus is saying is kind of true. But Verizon has done more to cater to customers than any other carrier. Want proof? The variable ETF, no other carrier has done that to this point. Test drive, 30 days and if you dont like it we cover all your voice charges and let you port. Recently changed our upgrade policy for sooner upgrades for customers, new updated prices plans. New My account benefits. Just to name a few within the last year. Compare that to what other carriers have done for their customers within the last year. ๐Ÿคจ I know it sounds like typical fanboy material but atleast take from what has changed from this year and find what best suits you and make the best situation. honestly, your best bet is to leave feedback with the equipment manufacturer. we only have limited input, mostly based on software issues because of our vcast music stuff, it has to be secure so people cant pirate the music downloaded from our network. hence why the phones are so locked down. there are plenty of phones available, i know cus i sit there staring at them every day. my reccomendation is just get everyone an lg 8300, its the most universal phone, with the most features, and isn't all complicated with special buttons. it'll make phone calls, has a good camera, and will play music and video games and stuff. word.
