VCast upgrade? txt msg notification
I just received a txt msg stating that VZW is offering a free VCast video software upgrade. It says to get the upgrade, go to GIN, Get new Pix & Flix, Get new app, Entertainment, Vcast, Free Upgrade.
Anyone know what this does? Anyone know if we lose anything we have now?

I have the LG vx8300. I don't believe this is phone-specific from the content of the txt msg. It appears to be a general VCast upgrade. After looking at the msg some more, and going into the upgrade area, I decided to go ahead and do the upgrade. It took approx. 3 min's. to download - in my office the signal is only 1-2 bars. When finished it said it was completed, and asked if I wanted to run it, so I did.
The upgrade gives VCast a whole new look. The menu is changed completely, with more "segments", if you will. I have only played with it for about 5 minutes, but it looks like it might be easier to find things - not sure yet though.

I guess. Or maybe even if you use VCast on a "pay per use" basis??? I'm not even sure if you can do that.

in addition to the new menu's the vcast video ota update makes for faster load times and a larger video library. Im not at work so i dont have the specifics but I think the old vcast software could only have like 40 videos at once. with the new one you can have 100.

Yes, in additional to the "look" of the VCAST, it is also suppose to speed up the data transfer rate.
