You need the Music Essentials Kit ($29.99)for the phone your buying, and whatever size memory card (256MB to 2GB) for storing the music. The Music Essentials Kit comes with the Software, USB cable to connect to PC, and headphones. The software enables you to convert songs to the Windows Media (.wma) file type for Verizon phones, and rip music from legally purchased CD's.

You do NOT need the MEK kit if your PC has a card reader (internal or external). You can just wmp10 to transfer to the card directly or just go here and DL new manager software (driver included based on phone selection) http://www.vzam.net/vcastmusic/Step2.aspx
