New Price Plans???

Being a former VZW employee, I remember a time when VZW used to change their price plans on a fairly regular basis. They didn't necessarily change drastically, but they would change.

Now...correct me if I'm wrong, but it's been over a year and closer to two years since the last price plan changes occurred. Anyone know when VZW might update plans again? It seems like it's time to get a little more current with the plans and text/pix features...

They did, however, change their TXT/PIX/FLIX plans in about July of 06... 😎

no after that they got rid of the 59.99 family. the 69 family became 700 mins and the 79 family was x'd and the 89 1400min family came. this was about june-august of 2006.

I don't think that's right, is it? I'm thinking the initial 9.99 plans came out in Feb of 05 and then towards the end of that year changed to the 700 and 1400 min plans. They haven't changed this year.

I left VZW March 2005 and when I left, the current price plans were already in effect. These price plans have been this way since July 2004 I'm thinking. The only thing that's changed has been the pix/flix plans which changed right before I left, in February 2005. Since then, none of the minute or text/pix plans have changed, so it's about due time.

Anyone have any idea if there's a change to these coming in the near future?

HA! the change happened in july 2005. Vzw introduced the 700,1400,2100 familyshare plans. before they were 500, 1000, 2000 😛

They also formally announced to the press that they were changing their contract terms to start pro-rating their ETF on all new contracts. This was supposed to be implimented in the 3rd Quarter of this year and was reported in most major newspapers. So far, its not available that way, and this is the 4th quarter. Sounds like it was just a publicity stunt, or bait and switch, to me.

I am pretty optimistic in the update of the txt packages. At least to allow for more domestic text messages. But the demand for an adjustment of the calling plans hasn't apparently been great enough to spawn any changes there.
