It's a great phone! And there's nothing out there that I see that Verizon can match it.
I don't or want music on my phone. The only thing that could make the E815 even better if it had a video that lasted more than 15 seconds.

The video could last up to 3 minutes with a MicroSD card.

I agree, the biggest mistake I made was upgrade for NE2, and I gave my E815 to my friend, and man if I were to stay with Verizon, I would buy that phone on EBAY.

I didnt really like that phone...in fact if any of you want one...I have a barely used one that I will sell for $100....the fact that you cant scroll through the contact with more than one letter was a huge deal breaker for me...I know it sounds petty, but when you have 400+ contacts, it gets really cumbersome. My 8300 blows away the e815!

With the exception of the bluetooth issue, I think the 8300 is an acceptable replacement for the 815- and I say this as an 815 owner. Unfortunately, until the bluetooth issue is resolved, I will be holding on to my 815.

What bluetooth issue? I have a 8300 and a Plantronics 510 and zero problems. People say I am crystal clear. I have also used the stereo Motorola 820 bluetooth and it is phenominal. What Issues are you talking about?

It's the not the clarity of the call, it's the fact that for no reason the phone will start routing your phone calls to the handset. It doesn't affect every 8300, but I've sold several and warrantied several others (many of them paired to your headset, which is excellent) and they all will do this. Other sales people in my company haven't run into it though, or have and don't know that it is a legitimate problem. If you search the forum for the 8300 you will see lots of commentary on this problem. There is supposed to be a patch for it, but I don't know if there is an official verizon one yet.

The E815 was horrible. As was the case with all Motorola phones with the old charging port. We sold a lot but in less then a year I have no idea how many of those things came back with the same problem, they couldn't charge. Thanks but no thanks. I'm glad the E815 is finally gone. I'll stick with LG. 😎

Dont forget all the software related problems with that model, like the powering up and immediatly shutting off, I cant count how many of those I have seen.

I have read all the threads before this one. My phone (E815) No port charging problems. Never has dropped a call. Battery standby is fantastic! It also has a very good camera and the video comes in handy.
Some people have to have the newest, shinest, smallest, new phone. I plan to keep using this phone until it dies. I only sign one year contracts, so I don't care about NE2.
It's a phone, I make calls on it, it works great therefore I'll stay with it!

Just set my trusty E-815 in the has been drawer at home with the Samsung 950, V-710, KX-2 and Tri Mode Star Tac. I have replaced it with the Krazr.
I would have to say the Star Tac and E-815 were the best phones by far and I also have a Treo 700 currently. I have been pleasantly surprissed with the KRZR though. Have had it for two weeks and no dropped calls yet and the voice quality and speaker phone are great.
My girlfriend has an E-815 and refuses to activate her RAZR which I understand;) For now the KRZR is rockin it but I might go back to the E-815 from time to time when I travel to Northern WI and Northern AR where it and the Tac are the only phones to ever get out.
