have to buy memory card OR essentials kit, don't need both. The easiest way to put music on the choco is with memroy card. You simply put it in phone to format card, then put card into card reader on computer. You will get folders, music, pix, flix, then you just drag and drop wma or mp3 into music folder and throw it back into phone and your done. The essentials kit can also be used but i think it is a bit trickier and the phone only has a 64mb memory so you will not be able to get a ton of music on there with no card.

Oh and it sounds pretty good considering it is coming out of one tiny little speaker, if you get the music essentials kit yoou will get a stereo headset and the data cable if you ever want them, so some buy both.

OK, there are a couple of ways to do it. I just got done putting most of my CD's onto my phone. First you will use Windows media player to 'rip' the CD's onto your PC hard drive. I suggest converting them to WMA since they take up less space on your memory card than MP3. You can do it without the music kit and just the memory card put its easier with the cable. Install music kit software in the PC, it will tell you when to plug in the phone. Then create a playlist in media player to sync to the phone. Put the phone in the music sync mode. Then push sync button of media player. That's about it. I got 533 songs on my 2 gig memory card and still have room for more. Make sure your battery is charged or plug in the AC charger, it took ...

Does the Chocolate use a Mini USB cable or a different type? Also, can you plug the phone in without Music Essentials software and Windows Media Player will recognize it as an MP3 player? Thanks!

Negative, Negative, and Negative. 🙂 3 strikes you're out! 🙂

Seriously, buy a decent 4 gig flash mp3 player for $199 and get the $50 vx-8300... You'll be MUUUUCH happier... or just wait for the 8600. 🙂

I do have a 4 gb MP3 player. I just wanted a small one (Chocolate) since it has a speaker I can play for my friends when im trying to describe songs. I really want the Chocolate though. I know the 8300 is a better phone, but I just can't not have the Chocolate!! 🤤
