i hate a guy argue with me that he called vzw to cancel his account, after talking to him for 45mins he finally told me that it was VZ LL that he called but continued to argue.

Verizon Communications is a publicly owned corporation. Verizon Wireless is a partnership 60% owned (controlling interest) by Verizon Communications. Of course it is not reasonable for someone to ask a VZW store for a refund from a Verizon payphone, but you make it sound like there is not a relationship between Verizon and VZW. There is! Verizon Communication is the controlling parent of VZW.

Obviously Verizon wants it this way or they would not have branded the two entities identicaly. It also makes good busines sense as the good will generated by one entity transfers to the other (on the negative side the bad will also transfers).

Happens..and yes..it is simply a misconception over the name.

Even though Verizon Landline does co-own it, the second co-owner being Vodaphone, VSLL and VZW are still seperate companies, yet customers don't always do their research to find out the specifics. They just assume since the Verizon name is on both, that its the same company.
