Need help choosing a new phone today...or should I wait?

My NE2 came today...and I thought I would've chosen a phone by now, but I haven't. I left my current phone's charger in CA, so my phone has been living off my car charger...which is why a new phone would be nice. I have limited my choices to the LG 8300, Chocolate or the RAZR v3m. It seems that the 8300 is a favorite among phonescoop members - but for some reason doesn't really appeal to me, the Chocolate has received very mixed reviews on its reception, and the RAZR - from what I've read on here and other places - has pretty good reception. I'm looking for a phone that has (#1) great reception, and (#2) other bells and whistles are nice but won't be the deciding factor on whether or not I'll buy it. Are any of these phones worth it, or shou...

I don't have much personal experience with the 8300 except for playing with it in the store, but I've done alot of research. I think I am going to grab one soon, seems like a really awesome phone. I would not buy Chocalate until it has at least six months of reviews because my experience with sliders is that they are very fragile. RAZR is a great phone!!! You'll see alot of RAZR-bashing in this forum, but 90% of it is from the professional Moto-Haters. However, if your looking for a phone right now, I'd go with the 8300 and grab it before the price goes up.

As far as i am concerned I wouldnt touch a razr if it had $100 hidden between the flimsy flip and craptastick keypad. I deal w/ so many warranty xchngs every day w/ that POS that it would make your head spin.

Is that the V3c that you are referring to?

I spoke with a senior rep at my local store, and he indicated that there have been almost no V3m's returned, but the V3c was a different story. He wouldn't reccomend the v3c to me but highly reccomended the V3m.
The 8300 has had so many Bluetooth issues I didn't want to go near it. The 5300 wasn't out long enough to tell if the BT was flawless.
I don't care about the music part. I wanted a small phone like the Samsung 650.
I really like the sidetone that Motorola's have, vs talking into a dead box like most others.
I also have a v325 and it's a good phone, basic camera, but the Verizon UI has rather tiny type.
I have the V3m.

I must say you are right on this comment. I went in the store today with every intention of walking out with either the 8300 or the Chocolate...and walked out with neither. I gave in to the RAZR V3M - I got to mess around with the phones for a good 30 minutes before my name was finally called...went first to the Chocolate and was completely unimpressed to say the least, let's just say it looked and felt cheap and the menus were slow. Next I took a look at the 8300, nice build quality but the flash menus were slow too and then I remembered how choppy my brother's 8100 voice/call quality was at home and didn't want that. So that left me with the RAZR V3M - I like the overall build of this phone. It seems sturdy enough to me and the menus were ...

8300 all the way my #2 choice would be Moto E815 but since we dont sell them at corporate you should look for it at your local ind. agent or the almighty Ebay. Good luck on your decision and i hope whatever you choose works out for ya. 😁

I have the 8300 and I love it. HOwever i would reccomend you get the Chocolate. It gets great reception (as good or better then the 8300) and its really unique/cool.

thanks for the input guys! i decided to give the pink razr a chance - but will definitely go with the 8300 if i have any problems with it during my 15-day trial. so far so good, as far as reception, in my known problem areas....no dropped calls yet, so i'm happy 😁
