Why not the 7pm option?

agostinod

Many of the major companies have the option for it with an extra fee, sprint actually gives it for free... Has Verizon ever discussed potential bringing that option forward? I love the service but I am "Running" on a thin line from switching because with that option I would save approx 180 minutes a month. Anyone?

Why should they? The have more people sign up every single month then any other company. The other companies have to offer a gimmick to get customers and they still cannot compete with Verizon, therefor Verizon wont and shouldnt offer the service until they see a need to.

One of the sales reps at my store told me that only like something like 2% of all daily calls are made between 7-9pm.

Salesmen and their stats, lol... Now one day if they release an option for 7pm, watch them make it seem like it's a must have.

So you are telling me you wouldn't like having that option? Why not reward your customers with an awesome option like that?

It would cost the company more money than it would make them. If they offered 7 oclock nights everyone with cingular/sprint/nextel wouldn't immediatly drop their service and port over. People switch because their friends tell them about the quality of service, not all the freebies.

now from a sales POV it would be sweet for me cause i'd sell it all the time, but from a business stand point it doesn't make sense.

Very true, but at the same time, there could be an even bigger growth for the company in terms of people porting over...

As a rep I'd want this as an add on feature for an extra 9.99 per line. But as the the 2nd poster said why fix what isn't broken.

I get the same question but it varies based on what company a customer compares VZW to

Sprint = Why don't you have nights starting at 7pm
Cingular = Why don't you have rollover?
T-Mobile = Why don't you offer more anytime minutes?
Haven't heard the Alltel thing yet, even though they have everybody In-networking.

Of course VZW thing is the network, so after we de-bunk the customer's question by reviewing terms and condition of the other carrier, more one area means less in others, or how we have completed their call when their buddies on X carrier couldn't while in Rural/out on the water/dead zone/fringe areas, we keep the customer.

Besides no sense in adding these gimmicks to attract X carrier's customers, the network would have ...

well my thing is that it costs an additional 10 to have the 7 pm option (and i believe an aditional 20 to do the 6pm option) if u are using approx 180, just jump up a price plan, say ur on the 450 ppl the 900 is 20 bucks more and will slove ur problem, honestly i don't really need the 7 pm, pretty much all my friends (litteraly as of a week ago) every good friend and family member i have now has verizon so i don't have to worry about it... plus that 20 bucks for every person i convert over ;-) and it saves us both money

no, the 7pm option is free and the 6pm option is $10... It would be nice though if Verizon had a 49.99 plan.

We used to have a $49.99 plan, it sucked! Everyone just went on up to the $59.99 because the value was much greater. On our end of the sales desk we always tell our customers that come in wanting rollover, or nights to start at 7.. Mostly we win our customers with our early nights argument. Most people who come in our store after a family plan for their teenagers and such are the ones who always ask about early nights.

We always tell our customers, that X company charges $16 for a share plan to have nights start at 7. That is $16 a month you would pay X to use your phone all you want 2 hours earlier. For $20 with VZW, you can double your minutes, use your phone more throughout the day and not have to worry about those sneaky overag...
