TREO 600 BEWARE!

Just bought a Treo 600 from VZW... first day surfing web (not using Express Network) ran up 2000 minutes on my bill... BEWARE... you must power off wireless phone after web surfing or picture emailing otherwise phone is always ON... is there a work around besides powering off wireless phone every time? BTW GREAT phone... but watch web surfing! Also, on Treo 600 you DON'T need mobile web option ($4.99 per month) it's already in the TREO phone! Any comments?

Okay, I guess I'm just TMobile-centric, but I don't see why in the world data use should take minutes--why aren't voice and data use more clearly delineated? 😕

You sure you racked up 2000 minutes in less than 24 hours? I just ask because according to my calculations, 24 hours X 60 minutes =1440 minutes... 😁 That's a neat trick. 😳

You might wanna call CC and have them add the $44.99 unlimited PDA feature to your calling plan. That way you get unlimited Nat'l Access & your voice minutes will be left alone.

It's an expensive fix, I think, unless you're a power user, and I'm appalled that whoever sold you the device didn't insist you get that feature. It's obvious whoever it was didn't pay attention during training...

towermonkey...
you got me there on 2000 minutes in 24 hours...
BUT... my point is I DON"T WANT to pay an additional $44.99 a month for express network... it's ridicoulous... especially when Sprint PCS using Treo 600 give unlimited internet services away for FREE with it's VISION plan... now when I use the internet I just power off the wireless mode and then power on... that way no extreme minutes... any work arounds out there yet?

no way to work around the system, you can still use it during the night and weekends for free as long as you have an unlimited allowance
