Anyone remember the days we could acutally open the phones up and fix them? The days of actually helping a customer are over, and I miss them. If you were to fix 10 phones a day, saving $150 per fru (fru cost) that would be $30,000 a month we would be saving verizon individualy... boggling. Who makes these decisions anyway.

I'm thinking about changing our job title. Changing it from Customer Service Technician, to Technical Suggestive Sellers. Would you like Data with that fru today mam?

It wouldn't be so bad if they actually compensated us for anything we sold. Hell, even 50 cents a data or something. This way, when we end up with 100 data for the month we could pocket $50. Crap, they buy accessories for literally $1.25 wholesale from...

stop whining. if you want to make more money then what solecrom pays you then quit and get a job elsewhere.

I don't know, but as a tech I've never gotten paid so much for doing so little....... Kinda takes the pride out of calling yourself a "technician" But I agree with the suggestive seller part. I get managers saying more to me about selling things and being more comfortable with selling than about the actual technical side of my job. I guess that's why here in the South Region (carolinas/tennessee) they are going to start cross training everyone in customer service to be able to handle any question that any customer has. Gone are the days when techs actually worked on phones.

For starters, not once in my post did I complain about my pay rate. We get paid pretty well actually. Thus the lack of complaint.

My qualm is about being compensated for something they push us so hard to do, which is sell data & accessories. The CSR's, and RSR's get paid on them and we don't. It's called "equalitity."

Lack of comprehension on your part. You're forgiven, some people are just born with less brain cells then others. I do believe you should stop spewing forth ignorance from that hole in your neck you call a mouth.

ok perhaps you forgot but you are not an employee of verizon wireless, thus vzw doesnt have to pay you anything.

you should complain to your EMPLOYER and not an internet message board.

Wow, if thats the case...trying to save them money would help when it comes to say...expanding the network still.

I know a few bad spots in the middle of big ass cities..Bellevue, Redmond. Saving them dough on the repair stuff would help let them put towers up.

Only a thought.
