My Toshiba-built Audiovox CDM-9900 is the best phone that I've owned. It does everything well. That is, until yesterday. My screen became damaged and is unusable. I can still receive calls and make them using one-button and voice dialing but cannot see anything on-screen.

the full answer is thanks to a bunch of tinfoil hatted lobyist last year it was decided for all cell providers that handsets must be e911 or agps compatable to be actiavted. Non e911 compliant phones will still receive service until such time as they are interupted (nonpayment, closed) or removed from the line (upgrade, swap) at that point the phone becomes a paperweight. Them Nigerians are always looking for phones, y'might want to try sending it to them. Maybe then they'll stop asking me to send them 11 RAZR's to support some kind of a coup(sp)
