Band Question

"GSM operates in the 900-MHz and 1800-MHz bands in Europe and Asia, and in the 1900-MHz (sometimes referred to as 1.9-GHz) band in the United States."

"CDMA technology is the basis for Interim Standard 95 (IS-95) and operates in both the 800-MHz and 1900-MHz frequency bands."

I read in a couple of posts from I think phonepimp stateing that 900 and 800mhz bands penetrate walls better. If this is true can provide some literature on this?

Phonepimp did reply to this; I asked for some literature and never heard from him again

GSM also operates on 800MHz in the U.S.

800Mhz signals seem to penetrate obstacles better. That's from what I've read and personal experience. I can't point you to a definitive source though. Wireless advisor has some good discussions on why.
