Mobile Web

Does the Mobile Web service ($5/month) allow me to access any internet site that is tailored for mobile handsets, or am I limited to the sites Verizon lists on its website?

With Sprint, I can access any site that I can type into the browser. I will be switching to Verizon soon.

Thanks.

To my knowledge the answer to your question is No VZW does not restrict access. From personal experiance on both a pda and the 8100 I have visited many sites includeing this one and a few others. That being said I would recommend a 9800 or a PDA device such as the Q. The screen si1 definitly helps when scrolling through webpages and if your lucky enough to live in a EVDO area you'll get near dsl speeds.

Thanks for the response. Does Verizon charge me minutes in addition to the $5 monthly fee?

Yes, the $5 mobile web package does use your peak usage. Free nights and weekends do apply to the mobile web. So after 9:01pm it's free. If you have the $15 V-cast package - then it includes unlimited air time usage for mobile web.

Perhaps this is more of a corporate discount question than a mobile web question, but does the corporate discount I receive apply to all recurring monthly charges (mobile web, messaging, etc.), or just the basic service?

It does not appear that it applies to the second phone on a family plan (the primary line shows the discount, but the secondary line shows $10/month).

Thanks again.
