New Every Two?

Gfunk

Jul 12, 2004, 1:49 PM
Is there a time limit to when you can use this plan? Because i was eligible since June 8th but the phone i want isn't available yet. So i was wondering if i can wait a number of months before i can use this. Thanks

The new every two expires in about three months. Do keep in mind that if your eligible for an upgarde doesnt necesarliy mean you have the new every two feature on your acct. The new every two program is activated to your acct when you sign a two year contract and your price plan is 34.99 or higher. what this means is that if you do two 1 year conrtacts in a row it doesnt mean you will have the new every two feature. Also, if you signed a contract on or before the beginning of 2002 you wont be eligible because the new every two program started mid to late 2002

Thanks for the reply and yes i have a 39.99 price plan. I wanted to wait as long as possible to fully take advantage of this promo. Hopefully, the lg8000 will be available by then. *crosses fingers

I would call cust service, ask, and have the rep notate the acct. I work in the west and I was told that the New every two feature does expire in three months.

Do keep in mind that the new every two feature doesn't just auto drop off in three months, but you MIGHT get a rep who is very strict with the rules and he/she might not honor your new every two feature and possibley take the feature off

Here's the FINAL AND CORRECT answer. You should up to 6 months to use your New Every Two from the end on your 2yr contract, after that if you don't use your $100 credit you will lose it.

honestly it does depend on the rep. im not going to wipe away your nu2. of all the ones i know i wouldnt see why we would not honor it to keep you goin with a new phone. not too many reps really know it expires thus you will be able to use it down the road.

If you're new ev 2 has expired then you've probably been out of contract for like 4 months or more. If you are out of contract then we want a new contract. We don't want you to switch to another carrier so we aren't going to deny you the $100.

If their NE2 has expired they'd be better off shutting it off and coming in as a new account unless their number is important to them.

Not true, if their new ev 2 has expired then their discount is the same as a new customer. No less, no more.

New Ev 2 gets a BETTER deal than new customers by $100.

Audiovox 8900
$299.99 Full Retail (No Contract)
$249.99 1 year contract or Early Upgrade
$199.99 2 year contract (Upgrade w/o new2)
$99.99 2 year contract renewal with new 2

(Customer walks out with a $70 mail in rebate form on all except the full retail purchase.)

Did they change the NE2? When I was VZW it was off the No Contract, I thought. Could just be my alzheimer's. Darn it's tough being 41...lol

It is, but most people with new 2 are also eligible for the discounted price bc they are almost out of contract. It stacks. There are a FEW accounts that have only the new 2 and no upgrade. Their cost would be $100 off the msrp. There are also acts that have upgrade but no new 2. Their cost would also be $100 off the msrp. They should also get the mail in rebate on both. It's complicated so we handle it on a per-account basis. We do all the work, the customers rarely have to deal with any of it. The only time it's a problem is when Joe and Bob walk into the store and Joe is eligible for an upgrade and new 2 but bob is only eligible for an upgrade. In those situations the manager probably ends up giving them both the most discounted...

A cust that has an upgrade gets whatever the 1 or 2 year price is of the phone.

I'm going to double check if mirs r provided w/ 1yr upgrade.

You're right, my mistake.
It's the price for 1 or 2 year in the pricing list, which is most commonly $50 off msrp for 1 year or $100 off msrp for 2 year and then mail in rebates... sorry for any confusion.

yup, the ne2 gives a cust $100 off the 2 year price.

in regards to a mail in rebate, i thought it was only given if a cust does a two year contract; i'm going to double check on that

it says it in the file. I didnt write it.

Maybe vzw doesn't like losing $100 so they only made the offer available for only 6 months.

If you read any of my posts for this thread, you would of read that the feature itself doesnt fall off, but a cust might get a rep who is strict w/ the rules and he/she might not give the ne2$$$

What you can do is call cust service and get the rep to notate your acct that the feature will not expire. Then when you call in 6 months or so you can refer that rep to the notes 🙂

Not trying to be rude but PLEASE stop giving misinformation. New Every Two does not "expire". Once you are eligible you are eligible ...PERIOD. It is always recommended that you contact care and have the account noted because because care reps are able to access the information a little more quickly than a sales/service location because they are focused on sales --- not trying to look back in your account to check for your upgrades.

The only way you can "lose" NE2 is if you take advantage of an early upgrade or promotional offer prior to your NE2 date. If that happens, then your two-year clock restarts as of that date.

I did say earlier that it expires in 3 months, but when I pulled up the file for the New Every 2 it said it expires in 6 months.

If you read my whole post you might of read me saying that the feature it self doesn't just drop off. Given that, I advised that when the cust calls in after 6 months he/she might get a rep who is strict w/ m&ps and not honor the ne2.

Also, if you read anymore; you could also read that I stated a disclaimer that I work in west and it might be different in the east.

Not trying to reply with attitude - Maybe I don't understand your response. NE2 does not expire. Once a customer is eligible they are eligible. Are you referring to the notation on the account expiring? Or maybe a situation where a customer is eligible and possibly moves down in a rate plan (in which an exception can be made)? Special promotional offers that a rep may offer to a customer expire after 30 days, but NE2 has no expiration unless the customer takes early promo pricing or goes with a 1 yr agreement.

I went to work , I logged in to the computer, I oppened internet explorer when to our web page and pulled up the file labled New Every Two, in this file that's labled as new every two it says that it expires. Dude I'm done. NE2 DOES NOT EXPIRE REGARDLESS OF MARKET. That doesn't even sound logical. It is not even worth debating over. Notice you are the only person stating this - every other reply is people shaking their heads like what is this person talking about. That should tell you something. And again I am not in attack or debate mode, so let's just agree to disagree.

exactly, I never pass up those opportunities, why piss off our customers when you can both walk away happy. I know rules are rules but as with everything there is a compromise, I guarantee if you turned the customer away and he called customer service he would get a new phone with the new every two discount
