The 8300 has choices to change the look of the UI it's through Flash, it's very cool looking. I hate the SUI and I think the Flash is VERY cool. Verizon is coming out with ALOT of new phones... believe it or not they take time to design and mass produce.

you dont know what will be on it, it is very possible that it will have the "ugly UI" and crippled bluetooth. however recently Verizon Wireless has signed a deal with Adobe to allow Flash enabled UI's on future handsets. they have also released a new firmware upgrade for the RAZR v3c which allows for Object Exchange (OBEX) on the phone, they have also stated that they will allow for more customization to the UI for future phones that are released with the standardized UI's.

so again, its very possible it could be "crippled and ugly" but its also possible that it wont be, its not out yet. and future handsets could be completely different.

I saw the Flash UI, I held the 8300 in my hand... it's more than just changing the color of the bars.
The V3m is not a rumor or hoax. They made ALOT of improvements. There are phones coming out soon that uncripple some features. If you are too impatient to wait for them then leave...

have you held an 8300 and played with it? i am guessing not since you don't know what you are talking about. The flash ui doesn't just change color, it also rounds stuff off changes layout and the 8300 you can even set it to change video wallpaper to fit what time of day it. Morning you get a sun with floating clouds then later that evening it will switch to a night sky wth shooting stars and all, the display is very impresive, Video wallpaper inside and outside and customizable ui 🙄 what more do you want with the ui?????????

Um yeah, I DID hold and play w/ an 8300 actually. I was the one saying that it does more than just change the color... Pay attention. I like the 8300 and I'm considering getting it for my self due LARGELY in part to the Flash UI.

My apologies sir, you are then with the wrong carrier. if you'd like you can have your choice of phones mass produced BEFORE the Standardized UI or one of the very few that will continue to be released with their manufacturer UI. Until you are b!tching at the wrong people. Believe it or not we do not design the phones nor do we have any say in how they are designed. No one calls and asks me or any other sales rep about the next big plans VZW should unveil... Sit down and STFU.

just curious, but how many models of phones out their, any carrier, allow you to set your own 15 second video clips for your wallpaper on the inside and outside display? you can change the red bar to blue, green, silver, and totally change the menu layout

Couldn't agree more. I left Nextel because of bad service in the area I moved to, I had an i560 which is a good phone. However, having that phone didn't justify me staying with Nextel. So I switched to VZW and got a VX-8100 2 days ago and I couldn't be happier.

Now you are going to ask "Why didn't you go with Cingular and their awesome phones?". That is because while they have just as good coverage in my area, I wasn't impressed with their phones.

It was between the ce500 (Cing) and the VX8100 (VZW). Now look at both of those phones and tell me which one you would choose? Keep in mind those 2 phones are the same price.

good choice, i don't understand either, i shopped a cingular store today and saw nothing that impressive, asked sales rep what he thought was the best and him and the other guy in their suggested the razr(woopie!) i have one of those now but mine has a better camera evdo and i can send myself free ringers through mms so give me any of that crippled crap becasue that is good enough for me. by the way i had the 8100 for 6 months, enjoy that is a great phone, i am ditching my razr as soon as something new comes out
